lol

I can only imagine the scene right now. He's probably blowing fire out of every orifice. I'll be curious when his 6 PM TV time starts and Fox News tells him how to react.

Just knowing that idiot is in office proves how stupid this country is.

My favorite part of the decision was that it looks like "DENIED" was written in Sharpie as a shot at Trump. :D

I would love to see his reaction to a picture of that last section. Picture because of course he won't read it.

(Yes, I know this is standard practice ;))

They made it about Judicial Review. Even Roberts is going to support Judicial Review. 6-2 at worst, Trump is going to have a conniption fit.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

I didn't expect it to be a unanimous decision. 3-0.

Meanwhile, McCain and Flake put a bill in a couple weeks back to carve a new 12th Circuit out of the 9th. So this decision will just give that proposal more legs among the fascists.

Key passage:
Rather than present evidence to explain the need for the Executive Order, the Government has taken the position that we must not review its decision at all. We disagree, as explained above.

That's a great line. If they had ended it with a "We disagree." That would have been fantastic.

Why would they do that? I mean, other than the obvious reason.

ETA: This is interesting, I guess:

They claim it's because the western states have experienced too much population growth to continue being represented by a single Court of Appeals. Supposedly, it takes the 9th an average of 15 months to render a decision on normal cases.

But they have the most judges as well and an average number of people per judge. Why would they take so long?

Sorry, these are being asked out of ignorance and not in a rhetorical or leading way.

That's the kind of face-washing of Trump I like to see:

Even more than that - the court gave the WH deference to demonstrate there was newfound risk presented by preventing the ban and their response was a blank stare.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

He tends to fire someone when he doesn't get what he wants. He can't fire the judges.
Kelly Ann? Spicer?
Hillary tweeted "3-0"
She'll be in jail by morning

They've been wanting to do it for years. Californian Congress members usually block it. Oil companies want it because they want a friendlier court for environmental decisions in Alaska.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

So the Administration didn't think the Court was entitled to classified information showing the danger, even though there is plenty of past precedence for the Court to view classified information?

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

From the little I read, the governments' lawyers defense was that this constituted a matter of national security because Donald Trump said it did.

As someone else on Twitter put it, they thought there was very persuasive legal power in saying The President really hard.
