POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

I just have to say how ridiculous all of this is.

Nobody was denied the opportunity by organizers to take part, or express their opinions. Numerous pictures were posted by women who held signs such as "I'm a feminist and I'm pro-life."
The group at the center of this whole discussion has expressed an overall positive experience at the march and a sense of welcome and unity (coming from different members, through platforms like instagram and twitter).

Meanwhile, the official stance of the Trump administration is that over a million people attended his inauguration, it was the largest crowd for an inauguration IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, and if the media tell you otherwise they are lying.
Oh, and, no questions please.

My point is now proven again. Don't agree 100%? You're out. How about trying to bridge that gap? To allow someone of a different opinion join you for the greater good? If you disagree on ONE issue, does that really mean you won't associate yourself with that person/group for a bigger message? Really?
Brent, JFC. Get your political bias out of your head on this. It was common sense, a safety decision. It was simply to prevent unneeded tension.

What political bias? I have spoken of none.

And dx, as far as abortion goes, I have had those discussions in recent history. Thankfully, the woman in question and I agreed, of course assuming no risk to the mother or child if a birth were to happen. Again, you have been very sensible and intelligent in approaching this subject. I thank you for that.

And whose fault do you suppose that is? Who has stoked the flames of that moreso than anyone else over the last 18 months?

Let's see...who could it be, who could it be. Who could be such a divider...

Could it be...

TRUMP?!?!

I agree. ALL people should be willing to discuss things. I hate the all or nothing mindset. At the end of the day, if you still disagree, well, at least we all tried. I still have a hope that we can agree somewhere in the middle. I truly do. And if that means I have to concede somethings, fine. And if you have to concede some things, fine. (the royal you and I, btw).

At least we would be making progress.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

I'm just sitting over here flabbergasted that the abortion thing is still a fight females have to fight. I personally know three women that are religious* that made the choice to have one. I do not personally know a woman that is straight-up against it. The three women I know all struggled with the choice, and I mean STRUGGLED. They still feel it was the right decision.

*Not ones that go to mass/service every week, but are far more than Christmas & Easter Christians. They all voted for not Hillary. They also participated in the march.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

It's not "all or nothing" Brent. You're conflating separate issues when the fact is any attempt to overturn Roe v Wade is a deal-breaker for many on the left. Guess what - it's the exact same thing on the right. You have to be against abortion and you sure as s**t better not talk about any form of gun control. You seem completely incapable of recognizing these things when they apply to conservatives and I'm not sure why.

So if a woman decides she wants to kill her whole family other people should stay out of it because that's 'her business'? It has nothing to do with imposing beliefs and everything to do with protecting an unborn child.

Should a mother be forced to give a kidney to her daughter? Even if it will kill her?

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Fox News Chris Wallace fought Reince Priebus on two of Trump's lies yesterday. He tried hard but Trump's reality won. Then Mitch was interviewed and Trump's reality was validated.

The media is not doing their job.

By the way. Women in Antarctica protested Trump. I saw the picture on twitter. That's amazing.

EDIT: Pundits now doing round table on Fox. They're sucking off Trump right now pretty hard. Media is a joke.

Trump is handling the press exactly like his buddy Vladimir did before he accrued enough power to just kill them.
1. Create artificial scarcity of access by inviting tons of fringy no-name loyalists to press conferences.
2. Tell them lies and reward the toads who will accept the lies
3.divert attention from important things like cabinet posts by screaming nonsense about crowd sizes and whatnot
4. Other stuff I forgot... but be careful not to fall for it.
Oh yeah, I remember...
4. PROFIT!

If anything positive can come from this- it's the note that more and more people are remembering that they can influence things, and are becoming politically active. Get more people involved in voting.

For both sides.

BTW, my first note about the headlines of the crowd size- thank you for confirming that this is the most vain administration in a long time, if not ever.

It's frustrating for me that the media made this a big deal in the first place. It's pretty obvious that the reason Obama had more people at his inaugurations was that there are a lot more democrats in that area. His win in 2008 was historic while we've obviously elected tons of old white guys. The media should stick to important issues and not get sidetracked with nonsense.

What have they influenced?
