Interesting. My condo is apartment/garden style as well. When I asked my realtor for my keys back, we talked briefly and she said she spoke with a few other realtors who trying to sell similar types of condos in my area and she said homes are going well, as are townhouses, but condos like mine have been more difficult what with the common areas like lobbies, hallways and elevators. Good to know there could be a market for my type of place. Seems like yet another instance of my realtors not doing their job.

No idea where you are, but the market is different between near-Boston suburbs and outside the 95 belt. There's zero low-cost stock around Lowell, so people just pounce on any listing, and it's mostly investors looking for rental units.

My work has 4 out for quarantine. They had roommates that tested positive. Masks are now required ALL the time within the building. Before, you had to have them on when interacting with people, and that was it. My building (2 people who didn't really interact, read: definition of close contact) didn't require them before. They do now. I don't mind it, really. A hassle? Sure. Poutrage? Nah. I'd rather be bothered than dead.

Stopped into a local brewery for my member's bottles pickup (free with membership). SD'd within the place, but it was full to allowed capacity. Had no interest in staying for one.

Oh, and very happy hockey table today. My building actually got the radio signal for the game this afternoon. :D

Put an offer in on a house today. Sellers are out of town until Tuesday and aren’t reviewing until then. We know of at least one offer other than ours, and it just came on the market today. Open houses tomorrow and Sunday, probably going to be a lot of offers by the time they get back. Place is awesome and will go fast and for well above asking.

Best of luck, man. Gonna be a rough go in this market, locally.

*gasp* you might become an East Sider?! I don't even know you anymore. ;)

Yep, even though it would be the same side of the river I’m on now. West Side neighborhood.

We have a place we can hang for a few months if this doesn’t work out, so we won’t end up homeless during a pandemic. If we lose out on this we’ll probably back off and focus on getting moved there.

Moving, even if only apt to apt (which I have done multiple times) is a big thing. I can't even fathom buying a house.

We’d love to move just once, but we’re not willing to wind up settling on a place we’re not in love with to do it. We’ve toured seven houses now, (no open houses, because duh) and this one house is just perfect. Walked in the door and it felt like home right off the bat. For that we’ll throw some money around. If it doesn’t work, ah well we’ll just wait for the next time we get that feeling.

Agreed on feeling like home. My current place (13? years now) I walked in, a couple of pine trees in front of the balcony for privacy, vaulted ceilings, quiet (very quiet) neighborhood, train tracks nearby (grew up next to tracks). Yep, home. I actually got goosebumps.

Good Morning Lodge!

All the talk of houses- I would love to move out of my town- the culture is toxic and they are proud of it. Unfortunately mr les grew up in it and thinks it is perfectly normal. Blech.

On the last week of Clinical for one group and then for the other 2 a week later. It has been weird. I have to figure out how to do some sort of closing thing- what I normally do (bake cookies, remind them of how far they have come with little anecdotes of what they were fearful of and now think nothing of) doesn't fit. 2 of my groups have gelled and I can muddle thru. Friday's group has never moved past sullen. They don't talk, they seem to be hating everything. At the end of the day when they do wrap up they will become animated and say they liked things they seemed to hate.

So- for all you folks who have done online classes- how did you finish the class? Any cool ideas? They give me a schedule I am supposed to follow but I have been sort of ignoring it.

Les,

I have been taking an online German course which just finished at 1:30. It drove me nuts. I keep pressing the wrong buttons. :-) I am debating whether i should take the next one which begins in late January.

Happy Monday Lodge! It's rainy and dreary here today. Just what you want for a Monday. Actualy, I'm hoping that with each rainstorm, the last bits of the the bird poop on my windshield will come off.

Anyway, for those that did not check out the Covfefe thread, my COVID test came back negative. While a big sigh of relief, there's still a part of me that feels I'm not entirely out of the woods. So, I remain in quarantine through Saturday, which will be the 14 days from exposure. My SIL, who is nurse, said on a family Zoom call yesterday that I'm fine and there isn't a need to quarantine. She's been tested five times. OK then. les - I plan to share the Facebook post you shared earlier today saying this is why I'm staying home by myself on Thanksgiving.

I keep hoping that the horse poop from police horses disappears.

1. I don't know why they still use horses.

2. They should have the same responsibility as dog owners. :-D

It saddens me to hear people who are in the profession, supposed to be knowledgeable, speak from ignorance. That ignorance is killing people. POsted a million times- the words "just" and only" are killing words.

It also makes me very angry at the incompetence at the top of the CDC. Their bowing to political pressure, delegitimizing the agency and refusing to give a clear picture and guidance is unforgivable. Words have consequences. The lack of a cohesive message has killed a lot of people and will kill more. Not the koolaid people. They are on the media outlets disseminating false info. Its the people who want to do the right thing but struggle to find a reliable source. :(

lilnsl has started his new job. He is sitting in HR, has a packet an inch thick he is slogging thru re benefits. He is concerned about making the right choices. I told him nothing is earthshattering- even if he chose every single benefit deduction he still will make more money than where he was.

RFAlph- the horses in London have a little sling they poop into.

HHT! 3rd game in 5 days, and tArrogance is 3-0! Finish up the series tomorrow, then we face The Whore And Sparty on a long road trip; the team is staying in MI for the entirety of that stretch.
