Plattsburgh State Hockey 2014-15 - Bob's 26th work in progress ...

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2014-15 - Bob's 26th work in progress ...

It's now been two weeks since our soon to be ex Athletic Director ****** over the Men's hockey team and fans and hopefully in a few weeks we won't have to worry about him anymore. Moving on to 2015-2016 one thing is for sure, Plattsburgh is going to need some major recruiting. Plattsburgh (35.7%) is 2nd among SUNYAC teams behind Geneseo (36.9%) in percentage points lost to graduation. Some big shoes to fill.

Toomey 27 13-19-32
Cassidy 27 12-14-26
Constantine 27 10-14-24
Brenton 19 8-5-13
Beadow 28 2-11-13
Kaye 20 0-7-7

We will see what goaltending brings next year. A healthy Finney will be fun to watch again, and if Rouleau can get a little more mental toughness he is as good as anyone out there.

Defense takes some leadership and talent hit with Beadow gone. The big Sweede in Engvall (6'6'' 210lbs) will help take up some space for sure.

Plattsburgh will have 9 seniors next year that will all need to pick up production if they want a short trip to Lake Placid.

Is it October yet?

yes Platty will lose a ton of fire power,Tommey was a very good D1 transfer, sometimes they dont produce he looked to be a all around player,I am sure Bob has people in the wings, looked to be about 6 or 7 recruits so far.Dont think there is a problem btwn the pipes, and thats where it all starts.

It's not voluntarily. Apparently when you tell the NCAA you "couldn't handle hosting both the men's and women's games in Plattsburgh " and never even gave options to a "willing to work with" NCAA Committees the higher up Administration don't like that too much, along with the expediently more Men's supporters, alumni, and fans. Deventhal already owns a house in Florida, it might just speed things up a little more.

Info on the new lobby and additional field house expansion can be found here (primarily starting on page 80).

The viability of this project can be seen in the recent expansion of recreation facilities at SUNY Oswego and SUNY Canton
and will arguably have a larger impact than at either of those institutions.

It's important to note that your quote refers to the Memorial Hall portion of the project. Nobody is claiming that stuff like expanded offices and a (finally) suitable playing surface in the gym are a bigger deal than Roos House.

Very true - there is currently NO expansion of the ice surface in the Facility Master Plan 2013-2023.

But it is a quote from the Facility Master Plan 2013-2023.

I wonder how the basketball team would feel about having games off campus... maybe the school would finally have student shuttles between the campus and the Fieldhouse. Also, I don't see any addressing of the parking issues with hockey and basketball on the same weekend.

Again, very true, but they will have an expanded lobby to mill around in - if they can find a place to park.

Yes it is. Technically, there is almost no "legal" parking down there.

Just so you know Charles Barber is a 2016-2017 recruit http://pointstreaksites.com/view/nybobcats/news-stats/bobcats-headlines/news_285434

very rare to see, in writing, that a player would commit to a DIII school a full yr before....also dont believe everything ya read:confused:

Seen this before, and half the time these players get exactly what they want: get a top DIII team to recruit them, play one more year of juniors. The announcement that they've committed to a top DIII program attracts the attention of lower-tier DI schools, they play well in that extra year of juniors, and the next thing you know they have a DI scholarship and everyine forgets they ever "committed" to a DIII school.

The Gentlemens' Agreement is all but dead.
