Also heard the following: (Beginning of rumor) PSU will play Canton once next season and twice the following. Morrisville will be Plattsburgh's travel partner. (End of rumor)

Hope to GOD this second part is FALSE.

I don't see why it would be so bad for there to be a travel partner shift. If it means getting Canton in the conference I'm personally for it.

Given Norwich is not on Plattsburgh's schedule next year there may be truth to this rumor and maybe we're seeing the beginnings of Canton becoming a member of the SUNYAC.

Where Plattsburgh is concerned, Morrisville as a travel partner only means one longer trip per season on a single-game weekend. It's the rest of the conference that should be unhappy with this prospect; they wind up playing a two-game weekend with that drive stuck in the middle.

Exactly, whoever plays the second day of the weekend will be ripe for the picking if Morrisville gives them a good fight and then they have to ride the bus into the Burgh.

Does it make more sense (from a travel standpoint) to break up Canton/Potsdam as travel partners? The whole Morrisville/Plattsburgh idea doesn't seem fair to the rest of the league... How about:

Plattsburgh/Potsdam
Oswego/Canton
Cortland/Morrisville

Or possibly switch Potsdam and Canton....

Nice little bomb shell with no Norwich- Plattsburgh game scheduled next year. Next thing you will be telling us is there is no Norwich-Middlebury scheduled game except for the Prime-Link semi’s:(

What is needed is for someone with a background in Operations Research to determine the optimal pairs of travel partners if Canton joins the SUNYAC. I know that there is a real attraction to the 11 mile Canton/Potsdam distance providing a convenient pairing - the only thing to worry about is making sure that home games for that pair don't collide with home games for SLU/Clarkson, because I would think hotel space would be limited in the area.

Plattsburgh to Morrisville - 220.78 miles
Oswego to Canton - 116.73 miles
