I can see the Nov. 1 start date for regular season games as reasonable. I do think as long as the teams have had a week of practice it wouldn't hurt to permit an exhibition game before Nov. 1. In fact, I'd be all for allowing a game against a DI school to not be counted among the 25 "on-ice appearances. Some of this smacks of "NESCAC-ism"

From what I understand and have read I believe it was actually a movement started in the West Region....the NESCAC's almost certainly voted for it though I'm sure.
