Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

I don't think the freshman Creech is returning. Too bad, he was pretty good from what I hear."Sudden Sam" Foley graduates in the spring, so Finney is the man for next year.

Definitely on my list for my next visit if the restaurant is running by then.

Related question, is The [Smoked] Pepper still around?

The Pepper is still the "Hottest" restaurant downtown. Packed most of the time.

Weather report for Thurs / Fri for central NY is not good. Why central NY? All 3 teams coming to Plattsburgh have to go that way (though I suppose Williams can go up Rt 7)

I don't think Williams will be coming anywhere near CNY en route to Plattsburgh.

Hobart and Hamilton might have to deal with the tug hill plateau though and even when it's gorgeous out everywhere else it's usually miserable there.

If they head west to pick up I-87 they'll hit the Albany area which under the Euro model is getting 12". Even if they head north, they're getting dumped on.

I just hope the darn storm follows the GFS model and blows through Thursday night.

FYI Albany is NOT CNY just as everything above Westchester County is NOT UPSTATE NY. CNY is mostly considered Syracuse to maybe Utica/Geneva, of which "that way" to most if us would mean taking I-81 to Rt 11 to Plattsburgh. Taking the 90 to 87 North is always a much safer bet during these months then chancing the "snow belt". Besides its the weather, its bound to be wrong. Look on the bright side, with Plattsburgh calling for a HIGH of -4 / -3 with a low of -13 on Thursday and Friday it will be pretty much to cold to snow that much. In short, even if it is 12" it's not a big deal for the area and might make travel a shade slower, but its just typical NY weather.

Here we go again....
I regard upstate as North of Albany and East of I-81.

West of 81 is Western/-Southern Tier.

You may think that, but you would be 100% wrong. People who actually live upstate will tell you that pretty much everything north of the Hudson Valley can be considered "upstate." And no, not everything west of 81 is considered "Western NY." Western NY typically starts west of Rochester.

But if you want to get even more technical...
