Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 13-14 Season 25

Nick Jensen to become a Pirate.

Along with his brother :(

Google Translation of above link:

The brothers Nicholas and Alexander Jensen returns home to Danish hockey after several years abroad. The two players have to crank out the Pirates in which they have been awarded the contract for the next two seasons.

Both players come from the club SUNY Plattsburgh in the American college league NCAA-III, and the brothers will now return to Denmark with the ambition to play at the Danish national team.

- We are very proud that we have got hold of them. There were many clubs in addition to, but they chose Aalborg because of the facilities and the city. It is of two types, which we look forward very much to see in Aalborg, says coach at Aalborg Pirates, Ronny Larsen. 25-year-old Nicholas Jensen is a born leader who is strong defense and a good skating. He's a big, strong back who sacrifices himself for the team. - I am looking very much forward to coming home and playing in Metal League. I look forward to contributing with solid back games as well as helping to produce. In addition, I am able to lead - even when the dirty work to be done, says Nicholas Jensen. - In Gigantium opponent must feel that it is Pirates who decides and I am excited to feel the atmosphere from our fans when we play at home. 23-year-old Alexander Jensen is a team player who can play both center and wing. He is North American in his style of play, and his force is to go straight at goal. - I am looking very much forward to play for the Pirates. Aalborg has a tradition of being with the top of the Danish ice hockey, and I hope I can contribute significantly, says Alexander Jensen. - The club has some great fans who flock to hockey, so there can be a good atmosphere. I am looking forward immensely to playing in the backdrop, the fans can create. Both players coach over the summer on ice in the United States so that they can return to Denmark in good shape.

The Aalborg Pirates belong to the Metal Ligaen hockey league.

I take it that the Alex Jensen will not be back for the Cards. A very big loss for them if this happens.

Only one player, I know, but nonetheless I'm pretty bummed out about this.
Seems as if we have experienced a slow, but steady loss of good team members over the years.
One can only wonder if there is a common denominator for this.

All teams go through this phase of loss talent. The best example of this is Middlebury. For what a decade they were the team to beat and now they are fortunate to win their conference and not to mention the conference tourney. Platty has had a very long great run and a couple of years ago they slipped a bit only to come back to the Cardinal Standard of hockey. I will say this will happen again.

I see we don't play coach Moffit's Castleton state this year; but we play Canton on a Wednesday night.

Castleton was probably the game they had to drop to add Canton like every sunyac school had to do this year. Or maybe Castleton is in the Cardinal Classic?

IMHO, look for Castleton to possibly be in the PrimeLink in 2015 or 2016...

Norwich would go for this? That would surprise me, but I'd guess you have better sources on that than I would....

Maybe the format of the tournament changes so Norwich and Castleton are always on opposite sides of the bracket?

I don't have any inside knowledge at all at this point. I do know one of the first calls Coach Moffat made once he took over at Castleton was to Mr. Trahan asking about what it would take to get into PL.

It never stopped Middlebury and Norwich before or Plattsburgh and Potsdam. Lets be honest the only reason Potsdam was let go was because they weren't competitive (no offense Saints). Norwich would only have to play Castleton every three years (Guaranteed). Big deal. As long as they are competitive. My question is hosting. They can barely hold a Castleton/Norwich game ...imagine how hard of a ticket a Primelink game might be. Being on break might help some but I'm all for it. Would have been years ago if they actually played clean hockey.....hopefully they treat Moff better then Forgarty got treated.....
