Re: Pick the Frozen Four winners and Champion

I find it interesting that almost two-thirds of those who expect BC to beat Minnesota expect them to lose the final.

Re: Pick the Frozen Four winners and Champion

I learned this from watching Bud Light ads.....

"It's only weird if it doesn't work"
Beer ads are usually lame but in this case, they're right.

Sorry, ARM.

Meanwhile, I've been busy studying Beanpot chants..... TTT can help me out with some of these....here's what I have so far...

"B - U - Foot - Ball - clap, clap, clap-clap-clap"

"Saaaaafe - ty school"

"Sux - to - B - U - clap, clap, clap-clap-clap"

"What's - a - text - book - clap, clap, clap-clap-clap"

Grant, work with me here, which one's am i forgetting?
What's a textbook, haven't heard that one. BU has a lot of them for us.

They usually follow "Safety School" with "Sunday School." Also "Jesus Hates You."

Their favorite is "Not in Boston," which is funny because when they do that at Conte they are actually doing that while in Boston.

Etc etc. You could go on and on. Honestly the banter between NU and BU at the Beanpot is even better.

Example:
BU: "Five year program! x x xxx"
NU: "We get jobs! x x xxx"
BU: "Flipping burgers! x x xxx"
NU: "It has benefits! x x xxx"

Tony -- it's light beer. That's as lame as it gets. They spend all of their money on marketing and none on producing a decent product. Which reminds me, if you're going to try to hex us with Gopher wear, at least drop a dime on a women's jersey, not on some T-shirt that you probably got for free. Unless, of course, it's a T-shirt commemorating a national championship. Wait, you don't know what that is. So yeah, go buy a Gophers Women's Hockey jersey and then I'll worry; until then, you're just some wannabe hex maker.

Eh hem, I'll have you know that I paid money for that women's hockey t-shirt! And bought the Minnesota jersey as well, though I'm pretty sure it's an older men's hockey jersey.

Do you guys actually have (and sell) women's-hockey-only jerseys?

BC women have their own 3rd jerseys but otherwise use the same home & away as the men.

The women's jerseys are unique, i.e., not the same as the men's. In the early days, one could walk into Gold Country and buy the same thing, but no longer. In order to get one now, you have to buy one at the booster club's silent auction, and they've become increasingly rare. The players have the option to purchase their own jersey when they graduate, and most do. Sometimes a player will change numbers during her career and then one is freed up. I've told the boosters that we should always have the team order a few extras and buy them for the club, because they are in demand at the auctions. The team has three jerseys: road, home, and special home, and they are usually changed out every third year. I don't think any of the designs were new this year, but the home and away should be next season.

If this weekend goes as hoped, I've got to believe that every single jersey used during 2012-13 will be on display somewhere. Purchasing players, successful bidders, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame... There will be ample demand for all three sets. "Sharing the history" with as many as possible would be a good thing, to say nothing of the fundraising potential. Hard to believe that the cost of three sets of jerseys wouldn't be covered many times over.

The very best of luck this weekend. Go WCHA!

If this weekend goes as I hope Bill Belichick will want those jerseys. Go Hockey East!

Doing a Ice is Nice like happy dance :D :D :D :D.....

The better reason for the response is to highlight your signature: "Happy 65th Birthday Bobby Orr"

Re: Pick the Frozen Four winners and Champion

I've gotten into enough hot water debates the last few days. I'll put myself into a self imposed two day hiatus from posting.

Therefore wish all four teams all the best, all the fans safe travels and for those lucky enough to be at the FF live, enjoy the games.

Cheering for the East and the Underdogs....Go BC....Go BU

Your chicklets are still green, so I wouldn't worry too much. Brooky and Eeyore both love a good debate, and I think Blackbeard is bored because the offseason came sooner than accustomed.

Not to be contrary or draw you into another "discussion", but how can you claim to be cheering for the underdogs and still not be for the one remaining unseeded team?
