Patty Kazmaier 2022

She's played five seasons lol let's pump the brakes

More like four and a half, really.

(And it's interesting, the variable numbers of games for the others on the list. If you look at Hilary Knight at 161 games vs Watts at 165, for example: Knight really 'maxed out' her four years; she played in the NCAA final every one of her four years.)

No brakes, all gas day BABY! Watts FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all know the all time scoring record was set when women's college hockey had a few teams playing with Model T's and the rest were still playing with horse drawn buggies. Watts Watts is doing now with tougher competition is way more meaningful than Watts Agosta did back in the day.

I will say I had no idea Brandt scored so many points. Interesting. It's also interesting that Kessel has so few points but she played like 6.5 seasons.

FWIW, the scoring numbers for the Jaques, Huges, Watts, and Heise when they have played against each other.

Sophie Jaques - 11 games against Wisconsin, Minnesota, and UMD
5G 10A
Gabbie Huges - 12 games against Wisconsin, Minnesota and OSU
4G 11A
Daryl Watts - 11 games against Minnesota, UMD, and OSU
5G 3A
Taylor Heise - 12 games against Wisconsin, UMD, and OSU
7G 4A

Updated numbers after OSU's win over Wis tonight

The way that I would differentiate is that Jaques is a D, and not just a D who starts on the blue line but is constantly rushing up the ice like she's forgotten that fact.

A logistics question... The PattyKaz.com website says...
The award selection process begins in February, when NCAA Division I women’s ice hockey head coaches are asked to nominate players for the award. Players who are nominated by two or more coaches are then placed on an official ballot, which is sent back to the coaches to vote for the top 10 finalists. An independent accounting firm tabulates the ballots.

Does anyone have further insight, particularly narrowing the timing of when the Top 10 voting occurs?

Having not even received the chirping crickets in response to my last question about the Kazmaier Award...

Has anyone heard anything about this year's presentation? The pattykaz.com website doesn't appear to have been updated since Frankel won the award last year, not even the "Kaz Watch" section. Speaking of which, there have been no #KazWatch posts on Twitter either. Normally we'd already be past the announcement of the Top 10 and potentially to the Top 3.

I was surprised that Abigail Boreen did not make the top ten. I thought she deserved it. I realize that the top 10 scorers are fairly close, but the player tied for #2 in scoring doesn't make the list? Chirp.

I tell you what we Played against Aerin Frankel and Lucy Morgan, I would take the St Lawrence goalie she does more with less no disrespect to St Lawrence but they are not on par with Northeastern Defense! I'm glad we do not have to face her this weekend!

So 5 of the top 10 teams in the country are in the ECAC and not a single player worthy of even a nomination?

Streamed the 3 games between Minnesota and Colgate this year...Liked what I saw of both Serdachny and Kaltounkova. Granted that's limited viewing but maybe one of them should have made the top ten?

The goalies do have an award, I believe. But at least your method has a few people from the ECAC listed. Seems sketchy when a league that strong is entirely shut out. Something seems very off in how this is voted on or arrived upon.
