I was rooting hard core for Sweden. Canada is going to run train on Halak.
There are were only two goalies in the tournament capable of beating Canada once the US/Swiss game was over...Now we're down to one.

IF Slovakia somehow manages to beat Canada Friday night, I would expect riots all across Canada. Stuff that would make the LA riots look tame and pieceful. Like 15 years later they'll still be finding heads out in the woods on hockey sticks type of stuff.

The US has to get past Finland and Kipper first. While Finland's offense hasn't been the greatest, they have gotten it done thanks to Kiprusoff. USA should be concentrating on them right now.

Just hand Canada the Gold.
I'm not convinced. Canada is clearly the best team, but as they came into the first game against the US playing imho scared, the next game they'll be so jacked up that they'll ripe for a team that can take advantage of mistakes (which we saw happen at the WJC). And often when a team that jacked and favored gets stonewalled by a goalie repeatedly - which Miller can do - frustration can set in.
On paper it's a Canadian win 7 out of 10, but if the refs don't job the US, Miller plays lights out and the US wins the mistake battle they could steal one.

I forgot to mention this last night, but "Brass Bonanza" was played in the 3rd of Canada-Russia. It brought a big smile to my face.

While probably true, you never know. Halak's a pretty good goalie, and maybe the Slovaks can pull it off.
If the US gets past Finland and Canada beats Slovakia, unfortunately I think you are right. I don't think the US can beat them twice, on their home turf, in one tournament.
Just hand Canada the Gold.

I'm going to be rooting for a Slovakian upset, but I'm afraid that we're going to see a USA-Canada rematch for gold. I think the US will slip by Finland in a tight game. I don't like our chances going against the dirty canucks a second time...

Slovaks have won 4 in a row by 18-8 goals margin, including Russia and Sweden. Might be time to not think of them as Latvia anymore...
