Oswego State Lakers 2024-25...young guns a'blazin....Let's Go Lakers...

Buff State was 20 secs into OT when they scored. We also lost to Platty last year in OT, in the SUNYACS, not sure of time left, so due tell.
On the other hand, McQuade had a good game, potted 2 when we absolutely need it.

Playoff OT (5x5) is different than regular season OT (3x3). So, you can't compare the two records.

Todays game is eaxclty why Oswego needs to go in a differnt direction. AFter leadign the entire game you give up a goal with under 5 mins left. Had many chances in OT, however the shootout selection is the main issue. You have upper classman that have proven themselves over the last three years watching guys that couldn't get it done. This is why NOT one senior came back and or high end transfers.

Shootout means nothing. Especially in a nonconference game. So, who gives a crap. Gosek may have been using it as a practice for when it counts for a point in a conference game.

We were down 2-0 five minutes into the game when Ed changed netminders. We came back with four unanswered goals. Agree about the shootout selection.

I counted about 100 people in the seats during the Oswego-UNE game.

The good news is- keeping perspective- we have 19-ish new players this year and early in the season we played these two teams pretty even.

I found a great pretzel! And it's at the future home of St. John Fisher College. I was there to see the son of a friend play in a tournament, so I figured I'll give it a shot. They cooked it right at the time I ordered it. Fresh, hot, soft, just the right amount of salt. As good as a Brockport pretzel. Looks like I will be attending a lot of St. John Fisher men's and women's games next season!

Russell- have you been to Rhineblick in Canandaigua? They have a currywurst appetizer that comes with a pretzel that is astounding. It's like a right out-of-the-oven pretzel loaf. Mindblowing.

That unit at the end was gassed. They couldn't get off the ice, and when Stevenson got the puck at center ice, they did a good job of "blocking" Cooper from getting to the bench. At that point he had no choice but to go back to defend, but he had nothing left. I don't blame it on any inability to play defense. (However, overall Oswego was outplayed in OT, as Stevenson had like three Grade A chances before that goal.)

BTW, that goal was scored with more then 0.3 seconds left. When it went in, I looked up to see how much time was left, and the clock was still running very briefly before they stopped it. Not that it matters, and 0.3 sounds more dramatic (LOL), but it was a little more than that.

Russ it doesn't matter how gassed u are there's 6 seconds go out there and stop them. Remember brad Marchand decided to go for a line change cause he was "gassed" and he coughed up that goal in game 7 with 8 secs left in the period. He still doesn't hear the end of that. That's what u have to do as athlete being able to empty the tank to 110% when you've already given 100% especially with that little time left its unexcusable.

Both games this weekend were very close to say the least, there are a few things we need to work on and the coaching staff will get to them I am sure...Not the results we wanted but I think the team is coming together and could be pretty damn good come the end of a long season...A few individual things,Vassallo plays a tough game, love it,Cohen is not afraid to shot the puck, love it, our freshman defense are holding their own, love it,Burke looks to be a future top scorer, lots of hustle all around, one thing I did notice, we have one hand on the stick to much, not good..lets get tougher in front of the net, anyone comes near the crease,HAMMER THEM...we have to play 60 + minutes lets not take anytime off....Let's Go Lakers!!!..

Wrong building. The volleyball will be played on the SJF campus. Hockey is on an offsite rink in Fairport. They may not even have pretzels in the campus buildings concession stands.

Sounds like what I had at the Hofbrauhaus Buffalo before a Sabres game once. Excellent. And great beer.

In speaking to friends who played Tge game at a high level, when we were down 2 goals after five minutes and Coach pulled McCarthy for Milberg, our boys started taking the body out, we scored three goals after that. Later in the game we stop hitting and they caught us.

Just what I said, we have to play a full 60/65 minutes, no shifts off in these close contests, still in the learning phase I am thinking, the upperclassmen need to step up like mcquade did as well....Go lakers!!!

Shoutout to the womens team 5-0-1 #9 in the country beat cortland 4-1 and tied platty with 2 goals in the final 3 minutes of the third period. Im for sure gonna start watching every game of theirs heck the mens team might become secondary this year the way things are playing out.

Nice hustle win vs Mville, they have little besides the net minder who stood on his head at times...........BIG games tonight vs the Dragons.......Slay the Dragons Lakers!!!!

Honestly it might be a good thing to end a very difficult semester with a good old fashion beat down. On to finishing last in our own tournament as is tradition even though the field has never been worse.

If they finish last with that tournament field...? That would be beyond embarrassing.

BTW, next year's tournament field is going to be much, much better.
