Oswego State Lakers 2024-25...young guns a'blazin....Let's Go Lakers...

I woke up at 3:00 am we are in Bavaria getting ready for some skiing. I streamed the last 8 minutes of the game. 67 shots on goal should be enough to beat anybody. We lost in OT, I do not believe this will help us in the rankings. It is early let’s see what happens.

We were the faster (and more skilled) team, kept the pressure on for a solid 3. Difference being Cumberworth in goal for Buff State.
The OT goal was a heartbreaker, feel bad for Mcquade (?) who lost the puck.
Not a mention of the Lady Lakers during last nights broadcast, missed opportunity.

Hey an ot loss is an extra point in the standings Cortland doesn't have cause they lost in regulation to the same team. Stinks now but come February that will matter for seeding.

That 67 SOG must have been in German, in English it was only 30. First period we were DOMINANT, should have been 5-1 after one but for Cumberworth. After that things evened out a bit, but we still had the edge, just waiting for the dam to break- but it (Cumberworth) never did. Scoring chances were something like 15-5. Oswego coughed up the puck a few seconds into 3 on 3 overtime and Buffalo had a near-breakaway and scored after 22 seconds. Deflating. That one got away from us.
 
missed the weekend set but looked like we dominated both games but came out with a weekend split, not bad, still putting the pieces together...Lets Go lakers!!!
 
Nazareth had a big game last night. They beat Buffalo 7 to 2. Looks like George Roll has a better team this year. The PWR is bouncing around alot. With last nights games Oswego drops seven places to 35th. They need to win this weekend in Utica at the tournament. They have to win Fridays game against Stevenson.

I didn't think Bufflalo looked all that talented when we played; definately slower, less skilled overall. Thye have a good goalie, a Russian kid whos pretty good in mixing it up, and one kid who scores alot.

I went to this game. It was very sloppy.

Buffalo State jumped out to a 2-0 lead, and I thought, makes sense. Then, the Bengals made a ton of mistakes. Defensive confusion, out of position defenders, goalie caught behind the net, goalie allowing a long low soft shot in by misplaying it with a glove instead of a stick. Just, very poor execution all around. And next thing you know, it's 6-2.

Neither team looked very good.

Even worse, the pretzel at Tim Horton's IcePlex was just wretched. (Though, the red hot was very good.) Nobody can make pretzels anymore. The world is going to h*ll in a handbasket...

Once again pairwise is dead all hail the NPI (can SOMEONE please publish the NPI jeez USCHO D3 Hockey News cmom now) not that it even matters to us this year anyway. We're not getting a at large bid I 100% guarentee it. That's probably a good thing for these guys they can just go out there and play. Just look good please.
 
Not hockey, Russell, we are in Germany for a month, yes Russell there are wonderful pretzels in this world. I have had at least one a day with my beer

told ya you missed the pretzel at the NYS HS final four Volleyball,they were to die for had 2 in one sitting...Cool Insuring Arena ,where the Adirondack Thunder play, maybe next time.
 
Yes like realizing 6 seconds on the clock does not mean the game is over so when one guy enters the zone ur supposed to PLAY DEFENSE!!!! Anyone remember the last time we let in an ot winner with less than 1 second left?
 
Yeah, that really sucked. Very nice comeback in regulation fighting our way back in, but man, we don't seem to have the concept of SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME in our vocabulary yet. If a guy is carrying the puck into your zone with 5 seconds left and there's no one between you and him- HE'S YOUR GUY! You don't let him walk right in to shoot on your goalie. Geeze.

And don't get me started on taking bad penalties...
 
Well looked like we outplayed the Steve,their goalie stood on his head a few times and we blew the comeback in epic style.Tough game today for sure.....Go Lakers!!!

Buff State was 20 secs into OT when they scored. We also lost to Platty last year in OT, in the SUNYACS, not sure of time left, so due tell.
On the other hand, McQuade had a good game, potted 2 when we absolutely need it.
 
Todays game is eaxclty why Oswego needs to go in a differnt direction. AFter leadign the entire game you give up a goal with under 5 mins left. Had many chances in OT, however the shootout selection is the main issue. You have upper classman that have proven themselves over the last three years watching guys that couldn't get it done. This is why NOT one senior came back and or high end transfers.

That unit at the end was gassed. They couldn't get off the ice, and when Stevenson got the puck at center ice, they did a good job of "blocking" Cooper from getting to the bench. At that point he had no choice but to go back to defend, but he had nothing left. I don't blame it on any inability to play defense. (However, overall Oswego was outplayed in OT, as Stevenson had like three Grade A chances before that goal.)

BTW, that goal was scored with more then 0.3 seconds left. When it went in, I looked up to see how much time was left, and the clock was still running very briefly before they stopped it. Not that it matters, and 0.3 sounds more dramatic (LOL), but it was a little more than that.

I found a great pretzel! And it's at the future home of St. John Fisher College. I was there to see the son of a friend play in a tournament, so I figured I'll give it a shot. They cooked it right at the time I ordered it. Fresh, hot, soft, just the right amount of salt. As good as a Brockport pretzel. Looks like I will be attending a lot of St. John Fisher men's and women's games next season!
