Oldtimehockey is not Denton King's father. He's been following Oswego hockey for a lot longer than most of the fan base.

Everybody on here has an opinion. Bottom line, none of it matters. We sit in the seats and armchair the **** out of a group of young men who bust their asses to be successful for themselves and each. NOT US. The Coach's put more effort into hockey in 2.5 hours, than perhaps anybody here yapping away ever has. This website allows us to feel like we matter in some compacity. I say again, nothing here matters.

Here's to the young men that fill our cold winter nights. Their efforts should not be splattered all over this site.

Plattsburgh saved their best for Oz, and not so much for a couple of other opponents.
Hey, wouldn't have it any other way - the CC is a fantastic place to watch hockey (that's no bias either, looking at a few rinks).

Good show for putting on the video Mike. It's been a pleasure making them, but I'm out of action on that hype stuff now. New line of work.
Keep those windpipes well lubricated sir, and have a blast!

COnGRATS to the Lakers for the SUNYAC Championship. This is a great way for the Seniors to finish and lets hope there will be one more game is the CC for the seniors to enjoy. I have not been the greatest Hare fan but big KUDOS to him. Also HUGH KUDOS for Singleton. I have enjoyed watching Matty for the last 4 years and every team needs a grinder like Matty. Even though he doesn't score a lot he disrupts the oponents play so much I think he is over looked to much.
After tonights game it will be interesting to see where they will rank in the East. Wich loosing and Utica not getting to their Tourney Championship game I see the Lakers getting the number 1 or 2 postion in the East. Lets see what the men in the smoking room does?? A very nice b'day present to Coach.
Guys in the booth it was great to listen to you call the game and you are the best around HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

1 or 2 in the East? No. Oswego shouldn't logically jump either of them. Then again, crazier things have been done by the committee...

That said, congratulations to the Lakers, and a special congradulations to the senior class. You all played a fantastic game, and were definitely the deserving winner tonight. I might actually be rooting for the Lakers in the NCAAs.

63-6-2 SUNY record the last 4 years including playoffs.
4 Regular Season Titles
2 SUNYAC Playoff Championships
7-3-1 vs Plattsburgh, may be the most success any class has ever had against the Cards

Still some work left to do, but win or lose this class has made us proud.

Champions! Dang, what a game. It had to do with a lot of bounces, and Hare got awfully lucky on how close that puck came to dumping over the line. An appropriate pick for MVP - stonewalling the Cards with 30 shots is a heck of a task. Plattsburgh will return with a healthy stock of young talent, and Oswego will be reloading yet again to meet the task next year. Great game!

I realize that the die is pretty much cast for Oz staying at #3 in the East, but I would have liked to see some reaction for handling their conference tourney while Norwich and Utica didn't do so. But...what will be, will be. My only regret is that Platty may very well be out. The Lakers probably carry the SUNYAC alone now in the NCAAs, but the Cards are always a fantastic team to be with in the field.

Cards -rule: I never root for the Cards except when the Lakers don't make the NCAA's and then I root for who ever, the CARDS, from the SUNYACs does. Root for your coference. We have a great conference and every year it gets better with the great coaches we have!!

Great game by the Lakers, and kick #$% TEAM WIN and CONGRATS to the program coaches,trainers etc, and yes a couple of bounces either way ya never know but I always say you make your breaks and the Lakers had that extra step that I have not seen in awhile ...AWESOME for those seniors and the 10 others who will be coming back will know what it takes...I think we played sound hockey defensivley,better than the Buff st game and we also had a nice forcheck,as for 7 pens and our PP i think it was just that type of game where both teams were tight on the PP and both penalty killing units were fairly aggressive. Great job and we move on, as for Platty well they will return a very nice bunch and of course be right back in it next yr...dont really care about the NCAA seating, I think if we play the way we did tonight we can beat anyone,especially if the PP can click...lets wait and see..

It's funny how the PP didn't seem to have any major influence in this game at all. In the first two Oswego-Plattsburgh games this year, PP was king. There were 5v4 goals, SH goals, heck in the first game there wasn't a single 5v5 goal. And in this game, nothing. Neither squad was able to manage a single power play goal.

For those who want to blame the Card's loss on Chewy, think twice. Rewatch the tape and you'll see that the Plattsburgh goalie had a great night. He blocked some pretty impressive shots. The only goal he let in that he can really be blamed for is the second one that just sorta trickled in on the delayed penalty. That was the only weak goal. I believe (i could be wrong here) he might have had the same number of saves as Hare did, or at least a comparable number. Cadieux had a great night, but Hare had an exceptional one.

Bottom line, Cards are a very talented young team and all their best players will be back for vengeance next year. Oswego will also be a completely different team next year, consisting of more than 50% freshmen. It will be a very interesting year of hockey.

So, if we are in fact a 3E, does that mean we host on Wednesday and then travel Saturday? I honestly think that we could squeak into a 2E. Would think Bowdoin losing tomorrow will help things for our seeding.

Oswego has no shot at 2E.

The Lakers were fortunate to be at 3E when the numbers went completely against it. The only reason why Oswego was kept No. 3 was probably to position them for a possible home game against Adrian should the committee pit the two against each other rather than pair Adrian with St. Norbert. Those are the only two teams Adrian can play without flying.

Utica or Norwich will be 1E, the other will be 2E. End of story.

Oswego will either host or go to Adrian in a quarterfinal should the Bulldogs vault to #2 in the West rankings or the Lakers will host a play-in game on Wednesday and then travel to Utica or Norwich on Saturday for a quarterfinal. My bet is it would be Utica pending the Pios beating UMass-Dartmouth in the play-in round.

As I posted on the Plattsburgh thread -

I would have enjoyed a win in order to watch more Cardinal hockey, but Oswego played their A game and Plattsburgh played their B game. Oswego was the better team tonight, not as good as the score showed, the second goal was a fluke and the fourth a ENG - but the other two were great heads up hockey, they did what they had to do - they found a way to win.

The senior ladden team earned their chance at the big game, I'm pulling for them to take it all the way - GO SUNYAC!!!!

I'm with Prez on this one - Adrian is up next for Oswego - hoping it is in Oswego - but we are talking about the NCAA - and the east has already had MORE than it share of hosting.
