Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-13...Part 2..Because Norwich's thread didn't close 1st

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-13...Part 2..Because Norwich's thread didn't close

Whether or not King is the posters son I don't know but the post is 100% correct. Rivait does have more experience but I feel king is the better player. I felt Rivait had a strong game against Buff State so he will probably get the call tomorrow but his confidence has been lacking for much of the season and a few of those head scratching mistakes will be killer in a championship game.

I knew I couldn't have been the only one thinking it.

Is King your son?

Oldtimehockey is not Denton King's father. He's been following Oswego hockey for a lot longer than most of the fan base.

Is the game on TWNY or just the Ozz college broadcast ??

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-13...Part 2..Because Norwich's thread didn't close

I put out the King Rivait thing to get opinons and its what i thought as well, I think King should get the nod,due to the fact he has better wheels and from what I have seen, disclaimer, via the computer, has made a few better passes than Rivait, also agree that Rivait needs some more confidence, we have seen him on the PP as well perhaps to get his confidence up and he does seem to have a blast of a shot...that said I think next yr when both get tons if ice time, they both will be very good dmen and will help the team big time..

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-13...Part 2..Because Norwich's thread didn't close

I have to agree that given the choice I kinda like King better. But if memory serves correctly, Rivait had a really great record coming out of junior and having seniority over King doesn't hurt either. I'm expecting big things out of both players, but I feel like King would be better. Keep in mind though, that it is possible for both to be playing as they both played in both Utica games.

Important note though, King hasn't played either of the previous Platty games while Rivait played both. Gosek may go with Rivait because he has the experience or he may go with King to change things up.[/QUOTEyes Rivait has played both Platty games and we have lost both, not his fault, not saying that at all, but hey a change of a few thigns vs a team that you have lost to 3 times in a row may be good, whether its personnel or a forecheck/neutral zone change..

I thought the "Is King your son" was pretty funny, I couldn't find the smiley face to put at the end of it. King and Riviat are both good players or they would not be rostered on the Lakers. I don't think a sixth dman is going to make the difference though. Plattsburgh has been rotating Steven Cook, Rich Botting and Anthony Calabrese all year as the 6th dman (after Kaye's season ended early). They are all capable of fitting in without making a mistake.

These games are too fast for guys to pay attention to who's out there. You'll see a lot of dumping in on both sides, so all the dmen will be under pressure. A good puck-handling goalie can help out a young dman for sure. Cards need to survive first 10 minutes and they'll be OK>.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-13...Part 2..Because Norwich's thread didn't close

I am actually thinking I would play both King and Rivait and take out Tim Carr. He has been a good d-man for Oswego in his three seasons here but lately he has made a ton of errors on both sides of the puck that have hurt the team. I know he has all the experience but that means very little if you are not playing well and right now he isn't.

Maybe you can take Moodie out as well !!

Seeing how Moodie and Whitelaw are the only two forwards who have any decent success against the Cards in the last few years I would have to say sorry but we just cannot fulfill your request at this time, but there is always next year.

EXCELLENT BANTER WITH YOUSELF HERE. Bottom line King is the better defenseman.....
Oldtimehockey is not Denton King's father. He's been following Oswego hockey for a lot longer than most of the fan base.

My objection here was I felt that the tone of the first sentence was a bit condescending. I agree that King would probably be a better choice, but I don't appreciate my insights being dismissed as "banter with myself". Perhaps I'm just reading too far into it.

Here's that hype video someone suggested...

Hey is the game going to be broadcast live on the Internet?

Yes, WTOP always broadcasts the home hockey games. Here is the link:
http://athletics.oswego.edu/showcase/

They always do a great job. I also highly recommend the WNYO radio broadcast:
http://www.wnyosports.com/

Both organizations will most likely have video highlights after the game as well which will be available online.
