Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

Re: Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

What an amazing last name to have. Headline writers are giddy already.

I'm thinking the Canisius writers have it better.

Why did Mr. Titanic choose Oswego?

...
Titanic accepted the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III school’s offer that will cover part of his tuition and living expenses.
...
In late January, he visited the based campus and came away impressed with the school and campus.
“I went to watch one of their games and their team gets a lot of hype. They have a good thing going there,” he said.
Another factor that led Titanic to accepting Oswego State’s offer was the closeness to his Markham home.
“It will allow for my parents to come down and watch me play,” he said.
...

Is the financial aid package just the tip of the iceberg? :D

If you are referring to the "residential scholarship" available to all out of state students that reside in one of the dorms as the financial aid package, not a really big iceberg.

I already got a name for Titanic's line.

The White Star Line.

You can thank me later PBP guys. :D

So will the famous Ms.Dion song from TITANIC enter the music rotation at the campus center now?

Near...Far.... Wherever you are! *GAGS*

I don't think we would even torture Plattsburgh fans with that song.

Don't know if this has been posted yet...but,

Oswego has snared two commitments from Nepean.

Matt Couvrette (G) and Corey Domenico (F)

Domenico was second on his team in scoring with 36 goals, 40 assists, and 134 PIM!

If you extrapolate Plattsburgh's PIM numbers over Domenico's 62 games played, they'd only have one guy who broke 70 :o

How come no one has made a Little Red Couvrette joke?

Domenico reminds me of somone that just left Oswego. :D :D

That's really not that excessive for juniors. Certainly nothing over the top. Got in a few scraps, obviously, but that's about it.

Edit: I see that did actually lead the CJHL (surprisingly), but it's still not over the top considering he played in 62 games.

Re: Oswego State 2010 Off-Season Thread: "Say it Ain't so Neil"

Anyone get word on next year's schedule?

With Hamilton and Hobart both participating in the Pathfinder Tournament..That opens up two regular non-conference games..

16 SUNYAC games
2 Pathfinder Tourney games
2 Elmira (home and home) I would assume this would continue
2 Utica (home and home) I hope they can keep this series renewed again this year

That leaves three games...Anybody's guess as to what those might be. It'd be cool to see Neumann or Curry on the schedule.

Well, that might explain why Utica and Hamilton are not playing each other this year. :(

It is, at Utica 11/13 and at Oswego 12/10.

That's too bad...that's a nice little rivalry game I would think between the two. I'm going to try to get to more Skidmore/Utica/Hamilton games this year when possible.
