Open Wheel Racing 2021, anyone there to watch?

It looks like a rehash of Driven.
Without the street racing with open wheel cars.

I'm way more optimistic about this movie with all of F1 having an influence on it. The only cringe thing I saw was that double pass at Daytona- hopefully that was passing two cars in lower classes than the "put the foot more down" that movies always have.

That's what a lot of people are saying.

And the dialogue from the first two trailers was wretched. And so unbelievable and unrealistic. It's interesting how that dialogue does not exist in this most recent trailer.

I think F1's influence was either minimal or ignored. The Hollywood folks behind this are some of the most powerful in the film industry. They are going to do whatever they like, and F1 will have to accept it.

The racing action will probably be very good -- some of the best special effects people in the business are involved. But I fear the rest of it will be unwatchable.

I watched Ford vs Ferrari by FFing through all the dialog. It is a great 20-minute movie.
The two best "modern" racing movies is Ford vs. Ferrari and Rush.

The two best "classic" racing movies is Grand Prix and Le Mans. Some say the latter is the best of them all. Heck, it only had like a dozen lines of dialogue. It was all racing.

I’m two episodes into Senna on Netflix. It’s entertaining, though some reviews said there are liberties taken with the narrative and then there’s some clear choices made in saving money, like his entire Formula Ford season takes place at the same track which is evidently not how that works in real life.

What was the biopic of Senna vs the dude who got all burned up? That was good.
Le Mans is the guy from The Blob, right? Is it good or just a vanity project? Godknows I love the photo realism of that period.

There hasn't been a an actual movie about Senna. Rush is about James Hunt vs. Niki Lauda.

LeMans is good in a racing way. There is almost no dialog between characters for 37 min. And I think it's the project that got McQueen into racing- who came pretty close to winning a Sebring 12 hour race.
