Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

The 5-3 kills were huge for my side. After the 2nd it seemed like the US were squeezing the sticks.

Yup. completely agree.

Second 5x3 kill completely deflated the US.

Kudos to Canada for keeping the pedal to the floor and not sitting on the lead though.

An absolutely fantastic game. Glad I was able to watch it.

Wish the result was better for the US but hey..can't win them all and you have to tip your cap to a great effort by the US.

Hopefully the men can carry the torch tomorrow.

Well, there is a certain percent of them that are Maple Leaf fans, they have to take their hockey angst out somewhere

Absolutely right!

Booing the great players is the ultimate sign of repect, whether it's at the ACC or the other NHL arenas. ;)

Like someone else said, its easier to cheer your vanquished enemies than to cheer them after they've beaten you. :)

Easy to be good winners.

So I tuned in to NBC to see if they'd started the skate yet, and Mary Carillo is a lumberjack. This passes for entertainment?

Oh oh!

A member of the U.S. Olympic team has been arrested for alleged assault in Whistler, B.C.

Whistler RCMP said a male American athlete in his 30s allegedly assaulted his common-law wife. She was not seriously hurt and no weapon was involved. He has been released after posting a cash bond, with the police recommending charges of assault and uttering threats.

The Associated Press, citing a person with direct knowledge of the investigation, reported the athlete is American bobsledder Bill Schuffenhauer.

What's your jump?

A lay-tuck-tuck triple.

I got Garmish up here... he's gonna throw a triple.

A lay-tuck-tuck triple!

Whenever you're ready.

:D

US is looking good in men's aerials. Sitting 1-2 with only a few skiers left...hopefully they'll get some medals out of this.
