Between the smell of the coffee bar and the roasting almonds in the back concourse there I can never resist buying. Bought a coffee in the Michigan souvenir mug once to the complete shock of the woman selling there that a Buckeye would want it, but it had been a long drive up and it came with a free refill. lol.

not trying to gloat but I think what Miami did was perfect, kept the great atmospher but in a state of the art venue. If tOSU can somehow try and mirror that it would be beneficial, but I think they really need to get more student support seems to be lacking at the schott.

I totally agree with you on both accounts. Students just are not involved at ohio state for whatever reason. They get into the games free this year and still only 40 on a good night show up. I hope they can get a 6-7k building and pack the place.

They show up for football :D . It will take that at a new place to intise students to come to games. But it will take a whole change of attitude from the top down to make it happen and they will have to get creative as well. It can definantly happen if they want it too, but the question is do they want to do it for Hockey.

Thats the question how much do the people at the top of the ladder think about hockey? If they care at all John Markell will not be back next year.

Ohio State puts a lot of emphasis on recruiting foreign students, perhaps they ought to recruit more Canadian students to fill the arena. Canada's a foreign country isn't it? :D

Big game tonight ND and UM. If OSU can pull one upset and ND sweeps, Buckeyes could jump to 7th. OSU goes 0-2 and ND/UM splits, Bucks 8th. Bucks drop two, Irish sweep, OSU 9th. Bottom line, two sweeps the wrong way and the Bucks on road first round. A split in either series, OSU will play at the Ice Rink.

I guess take the safe route...GO BLUE!

UNO and Alaska have completed their season with UNO one point behind Alaska. Remember early in the season the ref error that may have cost UNO one point in a shootout against BG. Looms big now.

Sure hope the Bucks come out motivated this weekend, at least keep the games close. If the boys can overcome the Markell handicap and play up to their potential this should be some good hockey.

Ohio state needs a sweep and ND to take 4 or more points because the first tie breaker is most wins in conference and even with the sweep ohio state would only have 12 and michigan already has 13.

On the same token with LSSU if they get a split with Northern and ohio state gets swept then lake st. wins a tie breaker with more wins. So we need Northern to sweep lake st.

I think we need to put a ad in the local paper and advertise that the " HOMELESS " people can get in to the games free also. :rolleyes:

Yeah, even the homeless have standards. Getting warm and being able to use a real restroom isn't enough enticement as long as Markell's behind the bench. LOL!

UNO wasn't going to get a first round bye anyways, and I don't think UAF holds on to it either quite honestly. Looks like with that point they'd swap spots though, because of league wins, but is there really that much of a difference in those spots right now? Guess we'll find out by the end of the weekend.

Does the administration make any attempt to get students in there (free t-shirts and or pizza works great), or is it just the red headed step child of tOSU athletics?

Currently over 600 tickets sold through the Columbus chapter of the Miami Alumni Association. Will be one of our larger contingents at the VCA on Saturday. Should be fun!

Hopefully it will be a close game but it isn't always how hard our guys play, a lot depends on who Markell suits up and what lines he plays. If the Miami fans get too boisterous we'll just have to remind them than only those who are part of the politically correct effeminate left are Redhawks, a real Miami student or Alum is and always will be a REDSKIN!lol! Nothing personal for you Miami people but it has to be embarrassing that your school bailed on your traditions even before the NCAA came out with their mascot mandates.
