Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

Who do you guys think will play the most in net this season for OSU ? I know Heeter is back and played a ton last season, but Skoff is pretty good and Hjelle might be better.

Why are thier so many recruits listed on Heisenberg? More recruits than spots? Any ideas?

I bet that cal leaves. He has nothing else to prove and with most of the offense leaving this could be a very rough year scoring wise. Hjelle will get the first chance im guessing.

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

The guy who has the best camp will get the job. If he does the job, he'll get the ice time.

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

if cal was going to leave he would of done it already. Nothing to prove? He had a great year no doubt, but has not won any hardware or set any records(team or personal). Also, he is a scholar-athlete and could want to graduate sooner rather than later.

Cal will get most of the playing time next yr (if he does stick around). Brady will see some action, and skoff will have to deal with not playing.

That really didnt come out right i meant to say was with the numbers he put up and the players that have moved on it might be a good thing for him to leave. Joe didnt sign untill late in the summer 2 years ago so i wouldnt assume he will be back just yet.

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

Heard that Steve Brent was fired today. Guess Oz didn't see any reason to retain his services after all...???

Fired or Resigned???? Maybe MR. Brent went to be the new Football Coach. LOL. Word on the street is the players liked him. Good Luck to him down the road.

Brent has resigned to pursue other opportunities. I think he's up to three kids, and the family situation made travel and all the time hockey entailed that much harder to do. I wish him well, he was a good one, very well-liked and respected.

Third one is due in September.

But others in this thread will tell you it's because Oz hates Canadians. :D

For a guy that thinks he knows everything about hockey you haven't fiqured it out yet have you? It's not that OZ hates Canadians he just loves the scholarship money that was freed up by the "International Students" more. One only needs to look at the Heisenberg site to see the reasons why.
Put whatever spin on it that "YOU" think, whether Brent was fired, quit or left to take the Football HC job he is no longer part of the staff. Something anyone could see coming when OZ took over. I doubt that we will see anymore BCHL recruits now that he is gone. I actually forgot that Brent was Canadian as well.
BTW, I do believe that this was mentioned back in november....

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

Any chance the Bucks will play a WCHA team this 2011-2012 schedule? I see there is only two WCHA teams that have not yet released there schedules yet. With the Bucks going to the big ten soon you would think they would start playing some of the WCHA teams now to get a feel for them.

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

I think Brents fate was evident when LeBel, who is Canadian, took a promenade role on the bench last mid season. LeBel coached with Oz at Green Bay.

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

Big congrats to the four players graduating today - Kyle and Chris Reed, CJ Severyn and RJ Umberger.

Re: Ohio State - It's officially the off-season

Move one player from 2011 to 2012. Saw that goalie Matt Skoff is staying with Sioux City for one more season.

Who else hasn't released their schedule yet? I have North Dakota as being the only ones that haven't. They have 3 games remaining; perhaps you'll see one or two in there. Maybe one, given that they have a Winnipeg game and you have the RMU single game. I can't remember how many NC games you have left to be declared.
