Wow what a impressive weekend put together by the hockey bucks. You can see the confidence growing each time they step on the ice. In the last 315.15 they have only given up 2 goals that in itself is impressive but they are not just doing the job in the defensive zone they are doing it all over the ice. The unbeaten streak is up to 7 games and winning streak now at 5 heading into the series at michigan next weekend. Have a great week of practice guys see you in AA next weekend!

The word that comes to my mind as well is impressive in fact VERY impressive. The chemistry is finally showing what we thought the teams potential was all along. It just takes time with a young squad for these things to come together. The difference between this team and the one playing several weeks ago is amazing. The guys have played with a lot of energy all season but that was about the only constant. The puck handling & passing along with all other aspects of their game was just top shelf. They also seemed to have turned it up several notches on being physical out there. Great Job Buckeyes! You really earned the sweep tonight!

I was at last night's game and left very impressed with the team. Good chemistry on the ice. One of the best passing teams I've seen in some time. The defense was excellent, everyone seemed to be playing a role. Heeter was terrific. I also thought NMU was very tough defensively, the score should have been higher early but their guys covered the net pretty well. Their young players are huge.

Also got a kick out of the guys in the scarlet morphsuits behind the visiting penalty box. Cool to see a few fans acting a bit crazy out there!

There were only two of them at the Friday game, then four last night. At their apparent rate of reproduction we could have an entire scarlet thing section by the end of the year. :D

The ushers and supervisors weren't too keen on some of their antics and had some words with them on toning it down. Got to remember it's all in good fun but children do come to the games and some of their stuff was a bit inappropriate for the youngsters. Other than that I thought they were a hoot!

Last night's performance was top notch but deserving of a much better crowd. Now we're back to the old question of what can or should be done to promote better attendance at the games? The Columbus Dispatch had the game summary buried in a small section of the results of multiple other OSU sport results with womens soccer getting most of the space. Come on, REALLY? Womens soccer gets better coverage than men's hockey in a town that has an NHL team? I find that just sad. The athletic department and local media really has to come together on getting people out there interested. Whens the last time on the nightly news you saw video highlights of OSU hockey showing goals and great hits, the things that would get people excited to come?

Keep winning and bring some bigger name teams in. People will start to come to the games. In all honesty, the Big 10 conference should improve our attendance figures greatly in a few years.

I can't put my finger on exactly WHY, but this years team just seems different. They win the race to pucks, they make good tape to tape passes and Heeter just looks SO confident in net. I'm excited about the direction of this program, gotta get some points up in AA next weekend!

I agree when the Big 10 starts we will see more people because they will be more familiar with the names Wisconsin and Minnesota rather than coming out to see Ferris and Lake st and teams they dont care about or know anything about. I for one cant wait to see Wisconsin and Minnesota each year in columbus and also look forward to going up to Wisconsin to see that place as i have never been there. This team is alot of fun to watch and makes traveling from Toledo almost every weekend alot nicer knowing they will compete each and every shift. Coach is building something special right in front of our eyes. As far as this coming weekend goes getting a split on the road is always the goal and anything more than 3 points is a bonus. Anyone coming up to AA this weekend? This is a short trip for me and i love going to Yost cant wait for friday night.

Look at the national stats and it will give you a good indication of why this team is winning.

Team defense: 6th at 1.83 goals per game
Power Play: 10th at 24.6%
Penalty Kill: 7th at 90.2%

They do not appear in the top ten for penalties.:)

and on a personal note - it's much more fun talking about "what is" rather than speculating on "what will be next year."

Believe it or not, last Friday night. IIRC, it was on WCMH/NBC4. Hope I'm crediting the correct station. But last Friday's pleasant surprise notwithstanding, your point is well taken.

If hockey fans are abandoning going to Blue Jackets games because they aren't winning, well guess what folks? There is more than one hockey team in town and this one IS winning!

Saw this Friday's game at Michigan is being broadcast but who the hell in central Ohio gets Comcast? If anyone here does and you have a plasma 50 inches or larger give me a heads up so I can come over and watch it with you. I'll bring beer!

Its comcast michigan only i believe.

Folks we might have a hockey team on our hands :) Still a looong way to go but the excitement I have been trying to keep reserved is starting to overtake me. It all starts in net and goes from there-well maybe its starts with coaching. Lets hope this can continue all season. At some points there will be some bumps but hopefully not too big. It's nice to be relevant!

I know this is more irony, but I actually saw ANOTHER guy wearing an OSU hockey shirt in Kansas City the other day.... Granted, I was at the OSU Alumni watch for the football team... Still good to see Bucks acknowledging hockey!

Add another one to the family; Anthony Greco from Des Moines in the USHL. From NYC but did high school at Shattuck St. Mary's. 2012 or 2013.
