SWEEP!! Way to go team and now solely in first place in the CCHA. I think the rest of the conference will certainly be taking notice of the Buckeyes the rest of the season.

That's probably how I'd describe the Michigan fans right now but if they did have anything to say about the series it may not be appropriate for children to hear. lol!

Unprecedented sweep of Michigan at Yost. 1986 was a lifetime ago.

I agree, don't want the momentum to end! What a great run this team is having.

Just wait until the weekend of the Frozen Diamond. When Michigan comes to Columbus and Cleveland to say they'll have quite the chip on their shoulder may well be an understatement!

I am absolutely stoked right now. I would have been happy with a split at Yost. To get a sweep up there, I am giddy right now! Clearly, this team is for real. There's no question about that now. You don't go into Yost and get a sweep, no fluke there whatsoever. This was huge. I'm with the rest of you, I wish we didn't have next weekend off!

Don't want to be a "buzz kill", but tOSU has LSSU and Miami coming up and I don't think any CCHA teams are pushovers this year whether home or away. Just a word of caution.

Of course any team can play hard and have a shot at a win and no team should be taken lightly but having watched this Ohio State team's progression all season and the high level of coaching we now have I think I can honestly say without boasting if a team wants to beat Ohio State they will have to play harder than in years past to do so.

I agree, this team is for real. You don't accidentally sweep Michigan at Yost. There is still a LONG way to go but I am excited. Wish we played next weekend, but I think the boys will keep their momentum going. With Lake State and Miami coming up it's not like there's a 'let down' game. The freshman contribution this year has been HUGE and can't say enough about Heeter. GO BUCKS!

On the other hand, this turns out to be an appropriate time to give thanks.:) Are we satisfied? No, lots of hockey still to be played. But thankful for the success to this point? I say yes.

Great weekend of hockey by the guys. They never let things get away from when something went wrong. Coach has this team believing in each other and his way of doing things. Now that being said there is alot of season left and improvment can be made. A week off untill lake state comes a calling to the schott. you know this team will not sneak up on anyone else after the results this weekend.

Everyone here can tell how disgusted I get by the lack of hometown coverage of the team from the Columbus Dispatch and today I feel is the worst insult yet. We sweep Michigan in Ann Arbor for the first time in what, 25 years and no coverage or report of it in todays paper whatsoever! The little 2 inch column of the CCHA teams doesn't count in my book. Here we are going into Michigan week with the football team and you'd think any OSU team's wins over Michigan would be commented on to add anticipation to that event and the Dispatch is a Blue Jackets partner and should be promoting the sport on all levels. I'm sorry but Ray Stein, the sports editor disgusts me in that he found a story about athletic director Gene Smith's mother dying to be more sports newsworthy than our sweep of the Wolverines!

Even when they won the title back in 04 wasnt that put on the back page? I love ohio state football as much maybe more than the next guy but when are they going to give the hockey team the respect that they deserve. the way they treat this team is awful and disprectfull to those guys who work had each and everyday.

Excellent weekend for you guys. Whether UM is up or down, winning in Yost is not easy. Doing it twice is pretty impressive. I liked the look of the Buckeyes when they were in South Bend last month, thought that the team was playing to their strengths better now than they ever did with the previous coach. I think that's how you win, play away from your weaknesses and to your strong points.

As for the coverage in the local papers, good luck with that. I wonder if your SIDs do a thorough enough job promoting the team? Can't just let the media come to you necessarily. There was some spirited debate on the internet over the summer regarding the South Bend media and their lack of coverage of all things hockey, despite all the changes coming to the college game and Notre Dame's central role in how things were going to shake out.

For you guys it looks even harder than for others because the perception about Columbus is that it will always be about football and nothing else. To a certain extent, I think there is some accuracy in the perception that a lot of OSU fans are football fans first, second, and last. Not the people posting on a college hockey message board of course, but of the general OSU fanbase. Maybe what you need is for your football team to become completely irrelevant to the national championship picture for 15 or 20 years like one that I root for. On the Notre Dame campus this weekend take a guess as to which ticket was hotter.

Thanks IrishHockeyFan, I hope you guys got better coverage in the media than we did with your fantastic last second win over Boston University! At least you had good TV coverage. If both our seasons continue the way they are going we'll look forward to seeing you guys at the Joe in March!

The bluejackets beat writer Aaron Portzline tweeted about the hockey game last night. NO excuse but at least someone at the dispatch noticed.
