All I am going to say about this past weekend is thank God the polls are still allowing us to live off that first-half winning streak. Hope this 0-for-2012 streak ends soon before our NCAA Tournament hopes go out the window. You have to wonder how long the PairWise is going to allow us to live off the first half wins.

If Ohio State doesn't drop at least 8 spots down in the top 20 today,something is wrong with how they pick the top teams.

It's almost as though the voters have been too stunned by this train wreck to turn around and admit they had us ranked way too high last December. Have a feeling that effect will come to an end in this week's polls.

So far, this team has shown that it can't feed off its own success and now that it can't respond to a streak of adversity. They're young though, and Oz is going to have to do the best coaching of his career down the stretch.

Alright Buckeye fans, lets get this thread going again. 2012 has been dreadful, but there is still plenty of time to get this thing going back in the right direction. Mrs 86 is working late Friday so I am going to fly solo Friday night and head to the game. I have no way of knowing this but I am predicting that the guys get off the schnide this weekend and pick up a regulation win (hopefully two wins). I know I have admitted to being "on the ledge" but I am not there now. Oz didn't suddenly forget how to coach and our talented players didn't suddenly forget how to play the game. This team will rebound and we can still go on a streak like we had in the first half. I would love to see us hot going into the NCAA Tournament. Our guys just need to get back to what was working when they were on the win streak ... great goaltending, solid defense, and hard work in front of the net to get those greasy goals (ok, admit that I stole that greasy goal expression from Ken Hitchcock when he was coaching the Jackets). We have too much talent and too good of a coach to just let this season go down the tubes. The really good news is that the PairWise, the only poll that really matters, has been kind to us and we are still in the top five. If we start winning again, we can move back up to where we were. I am really looking forward to getting to VCA Friday night to cheer these guys on. Haven't been to a game since the Frozen Diamond Faceoff.

The calendar turns to february tomorrow morning so lets put that dreadful month of January behind and start picking up the W's. the first round bye looked like a sure thing as last month began but as the new month begins they are fighting for there lives. I say lets take out some frustration on Sparty this weekend. They did earn a split at Munn in October and that started the streak to end the first half so i see no reason that this series cant start a new winning streak. See everyone on Friday night ill be in either 221 or 222 top row with a white buckeye jersey on if anyone wants to come chat.

Amen to all the above. Friday is the first of the last 3 home games for regular season and no Blue Jackets games so I wonder how big (if big is the right word) the crowd will be?

Klbaum1077, will they let me up there to say hello if I don't have a ticket for the 200 section? Actually, maybe I will just tell the ticket folks I want a ticket for one of those sections. Heck, it's just going to be me, so they should have a single somewhere up there. Maybe I will get to say hello. Shoot I have been on this board for more than a year and I still have not met one of my fellow posters in person yet. Hey, let's end this losing streak and get six points this weekend!!!

For like the first six or seven years you could only get on the club level with a ticket for it but for some time now it's open for anyone. As it's the only level alcohol is sold and can be consumed on, the powers that be decided they were losing too much revenue and took away the ticketholder only access.

After Saturday's game there will be a public skate on the ice. You have to provide your own skates and I assume it's the same as they've done it in the past where you had to pre-register and get a wristband at a sign-up table in the councourse where you have to sign and say you won't sue the university if you fall and try to look like a hockey player by knocking out half your teeth.

I dont have a ticket up there but i sit in 221 or 222 every home game.

I just found it amusing that they don't check tickets up there or anything. Hey, I'll see you tonight, hopefully. I'll just be wearing my old-school white hockey sweater with the Ohio State logo on the front and the shoulders. Let's get a W tonight!

Yeah, they've lightened up over the years unlike the ushers at the Jackets games who are totally strict and totally something else too, lol! At the Schott after the game has been under way they pretty much let you sit where you want or simply just walk on down to an asile like you know where you're going and own the place and they don't say anything.

well that might be the end of this team. I cant remember a worse 40 minute effort after being ahead by 2 goals after one period. It looked like they thought the game was over after the first period. The second period was like watching a team with a 5 goal lead in the 3rd period no urgency what so ever and they just watched sparty take over the game. Then after falling behind they still at times played like they were ahead. I hope im wrong but if they dont find a way to win tomorrow they probably wont win a game the rest of the season.
