What is going on down there? I am an Alumnus of The University of Michigan so I naturally hate you guys but after seeing the debacle that is taking place om cowlumbus even I feel sorry for you guys.

I can't recall his name but I did meet a poster from ohio state a few years ago at Yost. He was very respectful and I appreciate that.

I wish we knew what's going on. We dominated most of 1st period and after that defensively it just fell apart. We rarely have had a strong 2nd period all season but could not get the breaks in the 3rd.
I've been to Yost a number of times over the years and have always been courtious to our hosts as I try to be to you here. I would rather than hate say it's normal to dislike your opponent but to hate them is the attitiude of a drunken frat member. Back in the day of the great Woody vs Bo era of college football despite the public appearance of dislike towards each other those coaches displayed, their respect of each other couldn't have been greater.

Klbaum1077, it was great meeting you tonight at the game. We talked during the intermissions and I saw the exact same thing as you ... a team that had a great first period, apparently thought the game was over, and decided not to play the final 40 minutes of the game. It's mindnumbing that at this point of the season, and considering the absolute free fall we are in, that this team doesn't realize that they have to actually play the entire 60 minutes. I thought we had hit rock bottom a couple weeks ago against Michigan, then we played better last weekend, but apparently we have not hit rock bottom yet. After such a promising first half of the season, it looks like this team is going to be setting out the NCAA Tournament. And please, don't bother with the young team stuff. It's February, this is no longer a young team. No excuse whatsoever for tonight's performance, or lack thereof. This group better figure it out or their season is going to go up in smoke. I can deal with the puck not bouncing our way, but I cannot excuse taking the second and third periods off. This team took a giant leap backwards tonight. As Klbaum1077 said, if these guys don't start giving a better effort, they won't win another **** game this season. We have to go to Western Michigan next weekend, then we finish off with a hot Miami club. Still winless in 2012, and it could stay that way if we don't figure out that a hockey game is 60 minutes long. Very disappointing effort from our team tonight, no question about it.

If we don't win a game soon, I am going to be back on the ledge. This is getting ridiculous, and tonight it wasn't a case of bad breaks or the puck taking funny bounces, it was a complete lack of effort in the second and third periods. Coach Oz has to be beside himself. The things our guys are doing (or not doing) on the ice are not attributable to a lack of coaching. Oz certainly isn't telling our guys to not play defense or turning the puck over in our own zone. This is really getting ugly.

I feel they are thinking too hard out there on what they should do. For a team to do as well as they did before it's just going with the flow and their instincts, once you involve the brain too much you constantly question and doubt if you're doing it right. FEEL THE FORCE LUKE!

Earlier in the season, I thought we would be a lock to be in the NCAA tournament. Now I am just hoping we can right the ship for enough games to actually still have home ice in the first round. This second half of the season meltdown stuff is becoming a disturbing trend (two years in a row now).

Ohio State should be bounced out of the top 20 come Monday and if not,rankings are a joke.

Well yeah, you're supposed to, at least in hockey. We all know you two are each others main rivals in the sport but we'll always have football as your main rival.

Come on guys, this forum is dead with everybody being depressed, let's wake up! Focus on the positives, this team can still pull it out and have a great finnish to the season. We need to be supportive as possible. I know I've expressed disappointment like every one else but we still have to believe. LETS GO BUCKS and get the win tonight!

But this time you're absolutely correct. Good things can still happen if we right the ship tonight. At the very least, a 'W' should keep the Spartans and the rest of the bottom four at bay. That's a modest goal, but it's a start.

You're right PGB, it took a night's sleep to collect myself and get my composure back but I've always bounced back and I hope our team bounces back as well.

I dont know what else to say! by the time they play on friday night it will have been 2 months to the day since they have won a CCHA game, effort wasnt the problem tonight finishing chances and 0-8 on the PP is what did them in for tonight.

Next weekend we have to go to Western so it doesn't get any easier. The Lawson Lunatics will be out in full force and Western is playing better hockey than we are right now. Wonder where we will be in the PairWise after this one. Just looked. The updated PairWise rankings have us down to 12th. This season is really slipping away from us. Ouch.

I guess since we have a few wins since the new year flipped I can agree with this. I wouldn't call what we've been playing "good" hockey. 4 total goals in our last three games (@BG, 2 vs. UA_, 1-2-0) and 18 for the 10 games (4-6-0) since the calender changed. It'll be a race to 3 both nights, IMO.
