Ohio State 24-25 Are We Back Yet?

Nice bounce back weekend getting a sweep going into a bye week. Terness stole that game on saturday in the third period. They sat back way to much and Lindenwood took advantage of it.

Recently I’ve seen a decent number of commitments/signings for many teams but haven’t seen anything for the Buckeyes. Does anybody know what our recruiting class looks like or where I can find information on it?

Good Bounce back last night. Need to sweep this team tonight.

Yep!
A shutout win is a good momentum builder going into tonights game. We started slow yesterday but had a strong second period which is a rare thing for us just like us getting a PP goal. I believe Penn State is in a rebuilding year with a young roster.

Agreed on the PSU Rebuilding Year; but our guys gave us a strong performance last night.

Consider Shots on Goal Against. On Thursday, we gave up 22 SOG. Against Shoot-From-Anywhere Penn State? Seriously? Yup. Using USCHO Stats:

1. The 2024-25 Nittany Lions are currently averaging 31.2 SOG per game. Against B1G competition, the number is 29.9.

2. In Penn State's 14 games thus far, only Quinnipiac was stingier; allowing just 20 SOG back on October 12. Everyone else has allowed more. For example, Colgate put up 42 and 36 shots in their two games against PSU. The Ann Arbor based hockey club yielded 29 and 39 in their two contests.

So 22 SOG Against stacks up pretty well. C'mon. Let's do it again. Do you feel like I do?

Friday Evening Update: The Nittany Lions had a more typical shot output tonight, bagging 29. They were indeed a tougher out in the rematch. But the Buckeyes completed the sweep 4-2.

On to Notre Dame. Go Bucks!

Interesting game last night with both Ohio State and Penn State trading goals on their respective five minute majors with Ohio State getting an extra goal with a five on three thanks to a slashing penalty while we were on the major.
I do have one complaint and this has been an issue for many years which makes me believe it's a coaching issue and that's we lost more than a few scoring opportunities with the classic "one pass too many" that goes wrong. If you're in close and have a clear shot you better be able to beat the goaltender top corner or there's a problem. At least the sweep secured six valuable conference points.
On a side note hockey alum and former NHL player Dave Steckel and his wife were sitting near me. I still had some pics on my phone from 20 years ago of me and his parents and others to share with him.

three times last night they blew odd man rushes with that one to many passes. Happy with the Sweep getting 6 points from that team at home is a must. This league is going to be vey tight it looks like after first place. Another struggling team coming to Columbus next week big series to go into break at least tied for 4th place. January is a tough month with Michigan, Minnesota and State all on the schedule.

With Eberly getting both games last weekend and sweeping the series I wonder what they are going to do this weekend? My guess would be Eberly on Friday and go from there.

It was a good weekend getting the sweep over Notre Dame. It was especially entertaining seeing the Irish lose control near the end and their frustration exploding but that's hockey.
If we had just one more conferenc win we would be tied for second place, not bad for a team the coaches picked to finish last this season!

Great weekend getting 5 of 6 points. Was really impressed with the patience they played with especially Friday night being down 1-0 for so long and Nd just collapsing 3 guys down low all night long. the Schedule is brutal in January playing the Best 2 teams in the conference and Michigan as well. Going to have to steal a couple to stay in the race.

With the result of the football game last night, Buckeye football now plays in the Cotton Bowl on 1/10 and hockey hosts Minnesota the same day. I assume it would have to be something both teams and the conference agree to but with it potentially being an important game for Ohio State in terms of B1G standings, is there any chance the series gets pushed to a Saturday/Sunday series? I can’t imagine there would be much of crowd at all if they play that night.

Hell of a win against Michigan at Wrigley Field! We kept going down a goal every time we cane back but tied it late in the third. Burnside got hooked near the end of the game while on a breakaway and we got the winning goal on a beautiful deflection while on the PP. Michigan all game has effectively shut down our PP so it couldn't have come back from the dead at a better time!
I'd love getting the sweep Sunday in Ann Arbor, I'll be at that game.

How was the view? It looked like spectators were not very close to the action.
I didn't go as the chemotherapy I had several years ago has the lingering consequences of sensitivity to cold. It also makes my neuropathy flare up numbing the hands and feel but at least I'm still here to enjoy the gane in a toasty living room recliner. ;)

A win tomorrow and a Michigan State loss will get us ties for second in the conference.
Anyone else notice we're tied for eighth place in the Pairwise?
