Ohio State 24-25 Are We Back Yet?

Nice recovery by the guys tonight! Didn't look great the first period and change, but nice finish. Logan Terness was on fire tonight. Wow! What does klbaum1077 say about the Friday games? "You can't sweep if you don't win on Friday!" Hopefully we come out and finish the sweep tomorrow.
 
It seemed tonight we had to beat both the Badgers and some very odd and questionable officiating. But we accomplished the complete sweep of the Badgers in all our regular season games and are now tied with Minnesota for second place in the Big Ten and tied for sixth in the Pairwise. If we get the majority of points next weekend we can be solely in second place and look forward to hosting a first round game in the Big Ten Tournament as long as we finish strong the next two weekends. The best part is we're actually one win away in points from being tied with Sparty for first place! GO BUCKS!

It should be interesting to see how much we'll advance in the USCHO poll tomorrow. Of the four teams directly above us three split and one went to OT so we shall see.
I'm very pleased we're up to tied for #6 in the pairwise!

Home Ice is already done but man would it be nice to finish 2nd and get Notre Dame over another series with Penn State or Wisconsin.

Other than that minute or so in the 2nd they played pretty well both nights. Took care of what they can control and thats getting the points in your games. This weekend is the biggest series they have played since 2019 with what is on the line. Would be nice to finish 2nd and get Notre Dame instead of 3rd and either Penn State or Wisconsin.
 
Well last night was disappointing as we were pretty close to pulling our goalie when the Gophers got the dagger with that wraparound goal going up by two with two minutes left.
On a positive note Sparty lost in a shootout and only got one conference point. So if we win today we'll still be tied for second and only a point behind Sparty. GO BUCKS!
 
Not a good weekend for us, we could have taken over first place if we could have swept instead of being swept. I found it well very curious on our goal being disallowed for offsides on a challenge seeing how the linesmen also brought a ref in for the review and how long it took.
Unless we get a jump next weekend in the conferenc rankings we will host Xichigan in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.

Almost certainly will host Wisc first round
 
An awesome game and win for the buckeyes! First period we came out hard with the hits exciting the crowd. Our first goal came on the PP but the SOG were extremely low with both teams playing extremely tight defense. Michigan ties it on a very bad miscue on coverage allowing them to basically tap it in. One of the most intense part of the game was our killing off a Michigan 5 on 3! I was on the edge of my seat! The OT game winning goal by Smith was beautiful getting him mobbed by the entire team! A sweep of Michigan could happen tonight. GO BUCKS!!
 
Well tonights game was a disappointment, we were slow and sloppy and kept sending the puck right to the Badger's sticks! Wisconsin definitely wanted the win more than us and worked hard for it. On a side note it was interesting all the underdog teams in the tournament won tonight.

Was this at Nationwide? Does that diminish the home ice advantage?

Yes it was at Nationwide because for years and years now Ohio State kicks their own team out of their own building to host high school wrestling because they're greedy for the money! Ohio State abandoned ethics years ago in many things, not just this situation. 😡
 
What a comeback for the Buckeyes! The Badgers could have put us away with an easy wide open empty net but the kid wanted to drive the dagger home with a slapper that missed allowing us to score with the goalie pulled forcing OT. We got the winning goal in OT with 12:30 left on the clock! Tiebreaker tomorrow at 7:00 back in Nationwide again.
 
Well we advanced but it was by the skin of our teeth. I felt for the most part Wisconsin was playing faster more cohesive hockey than us. I don't understand why we let our opponents to move the puck so freely? When they bring the puck up ice it's basic hockey to check someone off the puck, right? Regardless were back in our actual home ice no thanks to Ohio State and the Ohio High School Athletes Association! Penn State is on a roll and peaking at the right time do we better have a gane plan ready we can execute, we shouldn't have to clean up some sloppy things this late in the season as you can't count on puck luck to carry you through.
 
Win or lose, proud of the fight this team has put up tonight, coming back from two goals down to tie and send it into OT.
