I'm only going from my damaged memory and not pulling up the records but the season that Covid cancelled the Big Ten playoffs 3 days before we were to play Michigan in Nationwide aren didn't we sweep Michigan in all 4 regular season games? I seem to recall the talk that if we had played Michigan in the playoffs and won it would have set a team record of 5 wins against Michigan in a single season.

No they lost at yost that year. They won all 5 games in 17-18 against them.
 
No shame in getting a split up there. Special Teams was the difference tonight. Losing 2 minutes of a 5 minute major and then giving up the go ahead goal during the 4 on 4 was a killer. Still 9 points ahead of them and in a 3 way tie for 2nd place. On to Wisconsin.
 
I just love how OSU's website can't get their info straight. They show TV coverage for the game at Wisconsin only on Bally Sports Wisconsin but it's also on BTN+

Got the result they deserved to get tonight. They couldnt complete passes all night long. They made it was to easy on Moe I dont think he was challenged after the 10 minute mark of the 2nd period. Missed a chance to gain 2nd alone tonight with Penn State also losing. Going to need a much better effort tomorrow night to get a split.
 
If you want to win your game you absolutely can NOT commit a penalty when you already have a guy in the box!
We gave the BADgers a 5 on 3 both last night AND tonight!

I thought the penalty for face off violation was wrong. They werent perfect tonight still sloppy with the puck but winning cures all that. Big series coming up with Penn State after the bye week.

A win is a win, but it wasn't impressive. No offense. Puck handling lacked focus. Allowed Cheese to match them on shots. They have two weeks to de-ass their heads before the four week grind to end the season begins. It's going to be interesting.

They were sloppy with the puck all weekend long it cost them Friday night and Dobes saved them at times last night from it. They must fix it to avoid what happened last year. Lets hope this week off they can fix it.
 
Key series this weekend hosting Penn State. Being tied in points with Penn State, and with Notre Dame and Michigan 1 & 3 points behind us respectively if we don't sweep were in trouble and at risk of losing home ice for the first round of the conference tournament. If we do sweep we'll be solely in 2nd place.

Last night wasnt very good. Every mistake they made ended up in the net. It wasnt Dobes best game either. Probably should have had 3 of the 4 maybe you could say all 4. Must win tonight to imo have a chance at home ice. They have the toughest road home with the schedule. We know what the last 2 games will bring at Minnesota. They need points from every weekend and in these next 2 weekends they are going to need more than 3 points. I wont call it last year just yet but they have to prove that it isnt as well.

I felt they needed 9 points this weekend and next and then a split with Michigan to have any shot at the 2 seed, so they'd better put on the foil tonight.

Penn State had a contingence of their students together in the upper deck trying to do a mini white out and being generally obnoxious, obviously forgetting they're guests in our house.
They were quickly shut down by the great home crowd & band! ​​​

OSU posted on FB that the game against Penn State Saturday was a sellout. I have to be a realist and say a true sellout means EVERY seat in the arena is sold and that includes the 3rd level.

I felt the same they needed 12 points from the next 3 series to have a chance at 2nd. Wisconsin is locked in last and they can lock ND in 6th with a sweep this weekend. A sweep also puts them 6 points ahead of Penn State and no worse than tied for 2nd place.
