Ohio State 2024-25 Domination of the Portal Queen!

Like it was said before, it's changing daily

Right.

And you guys knew that the judge was going to raise issues with the settlement a month ago, because of your great "insider info" in his courtroom? With his law clerks? Because he was discussing his deliberations with you?

Oh, brother!

smh...

Nothing has changed. Nothing he is raising questions about is going to affect the basic concept of equal amounts from one university to another regarding payments, or of the "cap" on the pool of money available for payments.

If the settlement goes through, Ohio State has no advantage because of it. And if the settlement doesn't go through, Ohio State then has no more advantage than they have now with regard to payments and scholarships. IE none.

Robertearle, you're very uneducated. Please get educated on this topic. You're embarrassing yourself. Especially when you continue to post on another teams thread. Actually, please continue. I do appreciate your entertainment value. Lol I'm sure you'll respond with some more uneducated thoughts. I look forward to reading them...

So educate me.

What in the judge's concerns regarding the proposed settlement do you see as giving Ohio State a singular advantage, that you claimed was the case back when we started all this? Please be as detailed as possible, including page number references in the House v NCAA settlement pdf.

Outside of whatever the settlement ends up being, is hockey really a player in the NIL landscape? Has anybody heard of a company called "Learfield"? It appears to have relationships with about half the women's WCHA teams.

Learfield is a communications company; Badger football and basketball radio broadcasts have been "Learfield" productions for years and years. I don't recall specifically about Badger WH radio broadcasts, but it would be a good assumption.

They also seem to be providing other services like NIL as well according to their website. Looks like they hire people with former ties to each school to cultivate that relationship. Plenty of OSU and WI athlete pictures on the website.

I don't recall hearing Learfield mentioned on any of the broadcasts, but all I would catch is the post game IF they were on the radio.

So the scholarship and roster limits are now in limbo thanks to two separate lawsuits against the NCAA. I posted the links to the most recent legal updated in a new thread.
You nailed it Sierra!

How does "the scholarship and roster limits are now in limbo" translate to "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country"?

The initial agreement is now no longer valid and back to the drawing board per court order. The second article is about a new lawsuit against the NCAA specifically about women student athletes. Didn't you read them? If you did then why am I having to explain it?

The "nut", the "money quote" (pun intended) of what we've been discussing for the last number of posts and pages is Sierra saying "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country" in reference to the settlement agreement.

How does "the scholarship and roster limits are now in limbo" translate to "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country". How does the agreement being in limbo translate to Sierra "nailing it"?

Because Sierra also posted the scenerio is changing daily and his post of what OSU can do was before the judge's order of redoing the arrangement and the new lawsuit this past week South Dakota filed. That's how Sierra nailed it, it's still changing.

How does "it's changing daily" fit with "OSU womens hockey will have the ability to offer more $$$ than all the other D1 womens hockey programs in the country"? Do you guys still think that that is the case?

How would we know now that the initial settlement with the NCAA now vacated and a new one not set? Let's just say unless caps are set OSU has deeper pockets than any other program.
