Ohio State 2024-25 Domination of the Portal Queen!

To show my confidence and faith in our program and coach I just made my Frozen Four reservations at The Graduate Hotel in Minneapolis.

Natilie Spooner wins MVP!! Maltais and Jaques all rookie team. Maltais was also runner up to Spooner. OSU the GOLD standard. Love it!

I'd like to see more non conference games against top teams like we did with Colgate last season but not for the first games of the season. I do like we have Penn
State in the Ice Breaker.

Are we actually guaranteed a game with Penn State? I hadn't heard anything about the tournament format.

Here's a story on Ohio State's plan to pay its student athletes.

A very interesting article, thanks for sharing. I was a little surprised to read that the payouts won't be equal to the genders and the sports. It reads that the big revenue sports athletes will get more money than the little revenue sports athletes. That makes sense in a capitalistic sense but in today's hypersensitive world of equity I wasn't sure how universities were actually going to do it.

I'm not one hundred percent certain it's going to be exactly like the story said, there may be some twerking yet, after all these are uncharted waters.
It's no surprise that football will get the lions share because it's critical they stay a top program because their revenue funds all the other sports.

Yes, I see a lot of tweaking going on. The article pretty much said that. You already have a great WHP, so they don't need any of that money at all. :)

My original question:

You are correct, I was speaking optimistically although I wish we could play Penn State yearly as part of our non conference schedule.

As per the just released Penn State Schedule:
Penn State and Cornell meet in one of the Friday games. Ohio State opens with Stonehill.

I also wish we had an annual series with Penn State -- as I've posted in the past. I don't mean to be critical in any way of the recent non-conference slates; they've been great. And there aren't that many games to work with. But OSU/PSU is a rivalry that deserves a full history. To say nothing of the fact that State College, PA is an appealing, doable road trip.

That we are conference rivals with Penn State in everything including men's hockey it's would feel natural to have a rivalry with Penn State. My only reservation and I mean no disrespect to Penn State but they just don't seem to be on the same level as the WCHA.
