Ohio State 2024-25 Domination of the Portal Queen!

100 PERCENT!!! 14 years in the NHL and over 500 games played. Buckeyes keep dominating even when not on the ice. Coach Elander is one of the best in womens hockey. How do you replace such a legendary coach ... Coach Muzerall knows. Again, gotta luv the OSU revolving door hahahahahahaha.

Great hire! Thrilled to have Wiz and his knowledge of the game back on our bench!

So if tOSU football team loses to Michigan is it a successful season? I agree with you not all's lost, and no one expects to win them all, but there should be some urgency. Granted women's hockey isn't on that level of pressure but this is the State of Hockey. He's had his pick of talent and now people are snubbing him more than ever.

Guess my point is he needs to kick it into gear if he wants to continue to compete for titles as that's what should be expected. Only a handful of teams tower above the rest and let's be honest the Badgers and tOSU were clearly the best two teams last year.

Many hockey communities are close and now those we know are highly considering leaving the state or wearing purple. While I would never be caught dead wearing your colors at a football game. If there's a few girls and families we know on your team, I wouldn't have a problem doing so even at Ridder Arena. Five years ago, I would have never said that.

I don't think all is lost at Minnesota. Your team was in the Frozen Four in 2023 and had a shot at winning it all. Even this season, the Gophers took Clarkson into a couple overtimes in the NCAA Quarterfinal. I think what we have going for us when it comes to recruiting is Nadine outworks the other coaches in the league, just my humble opinion. I have always heard that Johnson at Wisconsin and Frost at Minnesota don't really have to "recruit," they just "select" because everyone wants to go to those schools. The Muzzinator has turned us into a national power and now we are in on the same recruits as Minnesota and Wisconsin. That was not the case before Nadine got here. We would get a star player occasionally (Natalie Spooner immediately comes to mind), but we didn't get enough of them to put a championship-caliber team on the ice. And, as the title of this thread alludes to, Coach Nadine is not afraid to get into the portal and get transfers to come here.

I will answer your OSU Football question since no one else has. That is easy, the answer is an emphatic NO! I would rather go 1-11 and have that one win be against Michigan than go 11-1 and have the one loss be against that team (like the damn John Cooper seasons in the mid to late 1990s where we would go into the Michigan game undefeated and get our asses kicked)! I don't care how many games Ryan Day wins, if we do not beat Michigan, the season was an epic failure! Can't be the OSU Football Coach and lose to that team.

I was watching our Elite Skills camp today with osualum86 and we couldn't help but notice incoming freshman Jordyn Petrie on the ice working with the girls and she has such a smooth shot and quick release.
I'm sure it won't be far into the season before we hear it announced BUCKEYE GOAL for her first goal as a Buckeye! ;)

He definitely seems to overreach at times on obvious mid tier players he should leave alone, but mixed in with some genuine talent. So you end up with 2 can't miss standouts and 3-5 that will hit the portal the following year. Almost like he didn't concentrate on recruiting at all! A few that went to St Thomas would have looked good in maroon and gold. With tOSU and the Badgers easily recruiting the cream it doesn't look promising.

About Minnesota let's not leave out their Canadian defender arriving in the fall, Chloe Primerano. Not an example of Brad Frost getting in-state talent but an amazing recruit!

Yes, Minnesota has had increased competition for recruiting, though, with Ohio State joining them and the Badgers as some of the top teams. I also see what you mean that the talent on Minnesota is uneven, and (someone commented this recently - I can't find it) the top 2 teams for 1-2 years have clearly been Ohio State and Wisconsin.

This thread has become quite possibly the least edifying spectacle on the Internet.

You're free to add some excitement to it but if we have the season that I think we will this thread will probably have the most comments on forum due to the angst our team will cause to the rest of the WCHA.

I've attended the Muzzinator's camps recently and we had more than a few parents bring their daughters all the way from Canada to attend. That's what Nadine's success does.
Speaking of success Coach Muzerall and Coach Cline will now be on their way after the NHL draft to run the Rangers and Avalanche prospect camps respectively.

Ohio State Women’s Ice Hockey Schedule released today.

34 games scheduled but no mention of a game versus Wisconsin in Wrigley Field.

They won't announce anything until all the details and nuances are finalized including their PR campaign for it.

The announced schedule for Ohio St has 34 games on it. I'm pretty certain 34 is the maximum number of regular season games allowed.

So unless either OSU or UW is going to give up conference home game (which are already part of announced schedules) or OSU is going to drop one of the non-conference games they just announced, an outdoor OSU vs UW game ain't happening.

I've heard unofficially it's probably us giving up the home game. Regardless of released schedule they can change it up until tickets go on sale.

Meaning Wisconsin has to schlep down to Columbus in mid November to play one game instead of two, then to Chicago in January to play a highly important conference game as the first game back from Christmas break.

Same thing I said when this came around last time: I'll believe it when schedules are announced and such a game is on that schedule.

If it does end up being only one game in Columbus you should be so lucky that our tremendous home ice advantage is diminished so you're only guaranteed one sure loss. :p

Haha. It's one less guaranteed loss than the two you are getting when they come to Mad City.

I don't think Muzz's star shines that brightly in MN! We have a few (!!) great teams here where gals can play, and their parents and friends don't need to hop a plane to Columbus to watch them play in a sub-High School class arena!
