Ohio State 2024-25 Domination of the Portal Queen!

How does the coaching carousel continue??? Coach Muzerall has stated many times this is her approach to the game. It's won the Buckeyes 2 National Championships. Coach Elander was at the Buckeyes for 4 years out of Muzeralls 8. Funny Timothy A. you don't go on the Gopher thread making the same comment. I'm sure Coach brings in a BIG time name (again) ... you should focus on WI program as it's a house of cards.

... an extremely stable "house of cards"

LOL

Then why was the mother of one of Wisconsin's top players was basically ripping MJ a new a**hole during our conversation last season if the program is as stable as you believe?
From what she told me there's definitely some issues there!

Give us some names. Without names, it's just hearsay from one anonymous person repeating what another anonymous person is supposed to have said.

The subject was stability within the teams' coaching staffs. That the Wisconsin coaching staff has been quite stable really isn't a matter of debate; it is plainly an objective fact.

Why, so someone can cause trouble for her and her daughter? Your hearsay is my fact. If you don't want to believe it doesn't matter or change the truth in any way.

If anyone is going to CAUSE them trouble, it's you for making the claim on a public website. If they don't want you to say anything, then DON'T SAY ANYTHING.

Hockeybuckeye looks like our uninvited and unknowdleable guest is becoming a bit upset. Instead, let's talk about possible replacements for the great Coach Elander. Could Coach Muzerall bring in Courtney Kennedy? I heard they are very close. Could Laura Halldorson come out of retirement? Coach Muzerall and Coach Kline have been coaching with NHL teams last summer. I wonder if another NHL stud comes into the program. Does a PWHL coach leave as OSU is the hottest job opening in the country.

Interesting speculation, I could see the possibilities and the opportunity to coach here and work with Nadine & Kelsey is a very enticing carrot stick, especially if you like winning Natty's! ;)

Duckies and bunnies land really does need a dose of reality. Here we have a response to a sinner poster who responded to another poster calling the sinner program a house of cards. Quite natural for the sinner poster to respond to this. First of all, How the frick is the sinner program a house of cards? By all the players leaving the program? The coaching staff instability? Lack of national championships lately, Or worse yet, the poor recruiting? Quite honestly this sounds a bit more like the tunneler program.

Trying to be objective about it as much as I can, I believe the above posting is something that shouldn't have been posted on the forum. The reality is the WisconSIN program is not a house of cards and posting some gossip like this is just not a good look. Kind of like the sinner poster who put out there that SSM players were down on the slOwSU program. Again, not something that should have been posted.

2 years ago, UW went through something MJ called a storm. He was proud of the fact that they came out of the storm to win the Natty. There are a lot of personalities on any one team. Any one team has players who perhaps don't get the opportunity they and their supporters feel they should get. Even posters wonder if player X got moved up the line-up could they be more impactful. The bottom line is no team is immune to these challenges, except for your team of course. It's a wonder you haven't won more Natties considering the ultimate perfection of the team each and every season. You must be very bitter about this.

Wow time does fly. I knew he'd have a big impact. Have there been any other coaches for her who have been employed by her for at least 3 years?

Sierra says "four years", but the story on the Ohio State web page says three: 2017-18, and then 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Coach Kline is going into her 3rd year. If your trying to fish for a negitive good luck. Andrew Cassels who play 16 years in the NHL and was a captain in the NHL was only allowed to coach for 1 year. James Wisniewski who played for 10 years in the NHL and was an assistant captain was also only allowed one year. Athletic director Gene Smith has a rule, that if your going to coach you much have a college degree. From speaking with some of the players, it was some of the best coaching that they ever experienced. I believe coach Muzerall knows how to bring in the best talent for her players. 80 percent of the coaches currently coaching do not belong in coaching. Coaching is an art. Unfortunately, too many current coaches are unqualified and have lack of experience in roles that they do not belong in and you see it. I hope Coach Kline gets her own head coaching job some day soon. A good coach moves on to bigger roles. It's bizarre your WI coaches stay and ride the wave of MJ. Going to be very interesting when MJ retires this year. What will the kids do now that dads gone. Let's see who Muzerall hires. I'm sure it will blow all the other schools away and continue to make young women want to be a Buckeye because you'll be coached by the best in the world. In the best program in all of HOCKEY! Tick-tock ... Tick-tock

We all went through this two years or three years ago, and at the time I dug through Ohio State press releases and used the "Wayback Machine" to put together as best I could a list of assistant coaches (the digging was necessary because when an assistant leaves, they tend to disappear from that year's roster page). Finding that list was pretty easy, because the USCHO Forum site has a really good 'search' function.

As best I can come up with, and updated for the last couple years:
- Muzerall hired 9/2016
- Jess Koizumi for the 2016-2017 season
- Milica McMillen 2017-18 and 2018-19
- Peter Elander for 2017-18
- Andrew Cassels for 2018-19
- Emily West for 2019-20 and 2020-21
- James Wisniewski (volunteer) 2019-20
- Zoe Hickel for 2020-21
- Kelsey Cline starting in 2021-22
- Peter Elander returned for 2022-23, 2023-24

If I missed anyone, please do add those names.

Hey robertearle who won the WCHA this year????

Hey robertearle when MJ called a timeout at 7:31 in the National Championship game, what was MJ doing? What were the other 2 coaches doing??? I'll tell you what Muzerall was doing. Muzerall was coaching ... OSU wins. Maybe spend less time on our page and ask more questions on why WI doesn't coach on your own page.

I don't remember particularly. Do you mean 7:31 remaining, or 7:31 gone on the clock? I can look it up, but you'd have to be more specific about what point in time you're asking about.

-----------

The TO was called after a UW icing, 7:31 remaining in the 3rd: meaning that UW can't change skaters, leaving tired skaters on the ice. It's a pretty standard point in a game for a coach to use their timeout.
