Told my friends at work today I was going to do a postgame skate tonight. Response was "Are you going to come into work Monday with a broken leg?"

Looking forward to this weekends series. We have a chance to climb significantly given we sweep and others do as well. ND has hit a rough patch lately losing 6 of their last eight games. Hope we put a few potholes in their way but you know how it is, any given team on any given night. I think we have to come out hard & fast and establish that early lead and with the attitude we're not giving away any games in our house!

WELL , looking at the lineup for tonights game. I don't know what Coach OZ is thinking or doing? He has 2 Seniors out, 2 Jrs out & 1 Soph. And this is a CCHA huge must get points weekend??? Unless there all injured players , I think the Coach has gone off the deep end or is just trying to see what HIS ONLY recruits are made of. I've never heard of a Coach doing this in a Conference games. Non-Coference I could understand. ND has some powerful players in Lee & Lucia. Them guys are goal scorers. I'm not saying the BUCKS will lose , but Coach is going to lose BROWNIE points if he keeps this up. LOL.

Wow wild game tonight! Great energy from all lines! Finally took advantage of a 5 min pp. 4 ppgs tonight! Lets do it again!

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

Also props to the crowd and student section. I liked the chant when ND went empty net "teo's girlfriend"

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

Best played game of the season so far for Ohio State. Had some scary moments defensively and Notre Dame can't be given power plays. We skated hard and went to the net and the bane of our existence earlier this season, bad passing & puck handling seemed non existent tonight. Notre Dame will not be anybody's pushover and will come out skating & playing even harder tomorrow night so we have to crank it up as well.
GO BUCKS! GET THE SWEEP! :D

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

Very well played for the most part tonight. Finally scoring on the 5 minute PP as was said below. IMO this is the best skated game ohio state has played in the 3 years OZ and his staff have been here. Ever since the injuried guys have come back this has been a very different team especially on the offensive side. They are getting to the net at all cost and look what has happened 16 goals in the last 3 games WOW! Tomorrow staying out of the box is a must that PP ND has is dangerous. I thougth Brady was very soild all night i cant fault him for any of the 3 goals. If a they can win tomorrow 3rd place could be all thiers providing the other results go there way.

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

The BUCKS played a good game. Chance to prove what there made of on Saturday for the sweep. I thought ND had more than that. GO BUCKS GO.

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

Great game tonight by the Bucks, very enjoyable! It was great to see us cash in on that five-minute power play. Give ND credit for getting back in the game almost immediately to tie it at three, but then the Buckeyes answered. That third period may have been one of the best periods we have played, at least in regard to puck management. The only goal in the third period was DaSilva's empty netter, but it seemed like we were getting to a majority of the loose pucks and were finding a way to win most of the board battles. Overall, a very well-played game by our Bucks. Hopefully they can do that again tomorrow night and move into third place in the league! Oh, and my bones are intact after participating in the postgame skate, or at least as intact as they were before it! :)

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

The thing that throughly disgusted me last night was the repeated promo on the big
screens on accepting gay hockey. I was raised in a Christian household and did the same with my children. God and homosexuality are NOT compatible in ANY way despite what some would tell you. I'm sick of being bombarded by the gay this and gay that and I come to the games to enjoy hockey, not someone's political agenda!

I was just coming on here to post this--OSU Hockey To Host Pride Night--and mention that I really respect your program for actively working to put that event together. Hockeybuckeye's views are certainly disheartening but also show just how necessary events like this continue to be. Hockeybuckeye--you are certainly entitled to your own views and beliefs, but everyone is entitled to respect and fair treatment. An event like OSU's Pride Night is an effort to create a culture and atmosphere in which gay athletes (and LGBT individuals in general) do not have to fear being open and honest with teammates and friends. That is a noble goal and Buckeye fans should be very proud of their University, coaches, and players for possessing the courage, integrity, and respect for others evidenced by their decision to host such an event.

You were watching?!? :D Yeah, I made it around the ice four or five times without falling so I figured it was time to quit while I was ahead! That, and the wife was waiting for me at home (sick). Now, I'll probably get grilled for being a "bad" husband (LOL)! It's just a cold, she's not dying or anything. Hey, we weren't there tonight, did we win in the shootout and get that extra point?

As I said earlier we can't give ND power plays. If Crane didn't get that call at center ice we could well have finished with a 2-1 win and 3 points.

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

Did you watch the game? Hjelle stole us a point. ND dominated the game to their credit. They could say if we didn't give them a 5 x 3...

I don't want this thread to be about anything else than buckeye hockey, but I must say hockeybuckeye your view of anti god and my view are very very different.

Anyway good 4 pt weekend.

Thank you for your post. Some of us are really proud of our school and respect the players who took the time to make the videos. It's great to see people promoting equality in sports too.

Re: Ohio State 2013/2014 - Third year in Oz

Would like to keep this thread about hockey so, we are now instead of 3rd as I hoped we're in 4th place in the CCHA with 35 points which isn't bad. Ferris & Alasaka within easy striking distance only a point behind us tied with 34 pts.
Notre Dame has a 3 point lead at 38 and will host Michigan next. Michigan though struggling this season I thought didn't look that bad this weekend and of course ALWAYS has a chance at winning.
We however have to make that terrible long trip to Alaska and have to adjust our game somewhat when playing on their Olympic sized ice. Guess I won't be getting to bed early next weekend as I just have to watch or listen to those games. Best case scenerio next weekend is a sweep for both us and UM.
