As much as this team needs Danny on the ice, I think this was a great move and goes a long way toward showing the players what is expected of them.

Oz is being consistant in his attitude, from dismissals from the team to dealing with Dries last night, his way or highway.

I'm guessing you are one of those creative students who think they understand hockey and represent Western Michigan University with such class. Too bad the school doesn't have the stones to throw you vulger imbeciles out like they threaten to do, oh, 4 or 5 times per game. Lawson would be rather tomb-like without that oh so witty bunch of idiots...

That was started by Brown after his shootout goal. he skated by the Buckeye Bench and taunted them the whole way by. The trainer had to hold Crain back from jumping on the ice to go after him right then. After the bucks huddled up to celebrate the win they turned around to shake hands and some words must have been said to get it going but im not sure.
2 points is better than 0 anytime. I thought this was a very well played game by both sides. On to the Irish next weekend.

It was a battle of a game. I'm not surprised that Western would skate by the Bucks bench and taunt. I could tell they were a cheap team from the start. That's not saying much for there Head Coach. Maybe college needs to start a ruling about taunting others players or teams. The fight in the handshake doesn't surprise me either. You see this in hockey alot when one side has bad blood for the other team. I'm all for a GOOD LUCK team handshake at the start of the games when nobody hates anyone yet. Way to keep your heads up " BUCKS. "
It was good to see Sophmore Jeff McNeil get his first points as a Buckeye player to tie the game and send it into OT.

Meant as humor, not a true put down of our team but you know what I mean with the frustration of their lack of success since the 60's. OSU hockey fans only had to put up with Markell for 13 years. LOL!

Giving the devil his due, Markell was a big improvement over his predecessors for the first nine or ten years.

I would debate that based on a big difference in hockey then and now. Back in the early 60's our team played sometimes to a very empty house and that's in the old rink. Interest and attitude towards the sport in central Ohio was very low along with central Ohio was vastly smaller in population and I feel Markell was not so much an improvement personally but came along at the same time as an overall improvement and interest in the sport itself here coupled with large community growth. The athletic department gave him more resources than his predecessors which gave impetuous to our program along with the new arena during his tenure. But like John Cooper and football I think we went and stuck with the coaching situation a little too long before taking it to the coaching level we now have.

Oh I know it's all good. The 80;s weren't too bad. After that 94-2002 and 07 are the brighest spots-all with frustrating endings.
Anyway, Markell did take us further than anyone previously and I will always credit him for that-but the change was needed and I like the new attitude so far.

Buckeyes were actually ranked #1 in the early 80s for a spell with the Pooley brothers. After that, things went into the crapper for a good long time....really until the Frozen Four season.
