Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.
Saturday's Dispatch had a lengthy article on the front page of the sports section about the team (how about that?) but the reporter Michael Arace obviously did not grow up a hockey fan or very knowledgeable about hockey. ... The only experience he has covering hockey it seems is the Jackets which is where the real garbage is or maybe he's a Miami alum?
Good old Michael Arace. Last spring he was crying alligator tears over the loss of John Markell--the arena, it seems, was the problem with the program, not the coach. He argued OSU made a big mistake canning Johnny Highlights.
Re-reading his latest article, the Schott remains part of the problem; still.
In addition, though, Ohio State is supposed to follow the model created by Miami. Which, I guess, means hiring a good coach and winning a lot of games year-in and year-out. That's insightful.

Somehow that model is not seen at Michigan, or Boston College, or North Dakota...... Interesting, too, he couldn't come back on Saturday (nor could any other
Dispatch reporter) to cover the second game.
I think (emphasis on "think") he came to the
Dispatch after a stint out east (the Hartford
Courant maybe?). I wonder if he was miffed when the nearby Elis of Yale canned long-term coach Tim Taylor for Keith Allain. I was a Bulldog season-ticket holder during the early/mid nineties, and that used to be one sorry hockey program. But today? Holy moly.
Tell you what, Mike: send a real hockey reporter to Buckeye hockey games next time.
