Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

Welcome to the world Delaney Rose Umberger (7 lbs). OSU incoming class of 2028 or 2029. Center?:D

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

Very Impressive victory for the team tonight. Holding that team to 1 goal is very impressive. Home ice is really starting to become just that, they are making VCA a very tough place to play in. Each and everytime out now they are playing better and better with some help they can move all the way up to 5th place after tonight. Its not just the big guns doing the scoring right now either last weekend the 4th line scroed both goals on saturday and tonight Stachuck, kirkland, and CJ all score goals tonight. When you get goals from guys your not expecting to it really gives the team a spark. Coming into this series i thought 3 points were huge to get from the 1st place now that they have got that go all out and get more tomorrow.

All I can say, whatever coach Oz is doing, this team is different and I like it!

Love the effort tonight! Some nice bounces our way for once as well but we are due a few

How about Danny Dries on the Blue line tonight due to illness/injury

Chris Reed was injured last saturday at Western and Oz said in the pre game interview that Dries would see time on the Blue line because he sees the ice very well and he thinks dries is a good fit back there.

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

I would never have thought that we would have done as well against ND as we did tonight. Saw lots of hustle out there and more and more chemistry coming together especially in presence of mind on where their teammates are for a much improved passing game. So now we're tied with Western for 5th place at 28 points and 1 point behind Ferris for 4th. Best case scenario for tomorrow night is an OSU win (of course) and a loss by Western, Ferris, & Miami which would put us solely in 4th place and 2 points behind Miami for 3rd. Sweet, eh? We'll see how it goes. :D

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

You got lucky. No, wait, you guys are a bunch of thugs. No, wait, it was the refs...

No I can't do it. :D As ****ed as I am about my team, that was a nice win for OSU. Hustled, played for 60 minutes, got good goaltending, took advantage of everything that came your way. I'm getting the sense about Ohio State that that's been happening pretty regularly lately.

Congrats on the win, but I am getting a little tired of my team being man-handled in Columbus. If we're not competitive tomorrow, it's going to be a mighty unpleasant busride home for a couple of dozen young men.;)

Thanks IrishHockeyFan, From how we looked at the beginning of the season I didn't think we'd get to the level we've been playing at lately. The guys have been adapting to the new coach better than many thought they could. However just because we got a good win tonight by no means can one consider ND down for the count. You guys weren't top in the conference coming in here by dumb luck, Saturday should be quite interesting.

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

What a difference one loss makes when things are in a tight conference race! A win tonight would have had us solely in 4th place but the loss put us in 7th. At least there is only one point separating us from the next 3 above us. The next several weeks should become quite intense.

Should be quite interesting for the last 5 weeks. Off to the great white north. Fridays are a tough win to get up there western is the only team to win on Friday this year i believe. A split would be great up there and anything more is a bonus.

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

I see the other Carlson, (not the goalie) has only dressed in 8 games and has the lowest plus/minus on the team. Any idea on his future, thought he looked promising last year?

Re: Ohio State 2010/2011 - No way but up.

Lakestedpuck.

I noticed that also. I bet the plus/minus has alot to due with the first two games he played on Defense because Coach was short on D-Man due to injury. All 4 Sophmores Carlson 8 games - McNeil 9 games - Kirkland 11 games and Martell 10 games , might as well drop down to D-3 for more playing time because they don't have much of a chance as Coach Oz favors the younger players. These 4 players were recruited by the old Coach Markell and he liked the older players. Eh.

Here's the break down for next year. 11 Recruits coming in. 5 - D , 4 - F and 2 - Goalies.

Seniors Leaving. 3 - D , 5 - F and 1 - Goalie.

Roster Cuts ? D - 5 in 3 out = 2 cut. F - 4 in 5 out = 0 cut. Goalies - 2 in Dustin Carlson out , leaves Heeter and Micheals. I Goalie cut.

If any forwards leave next year most likley will be there own choice for more playing time on a D-3 team.

This season we have had 2 players leave already. One at the start of the year for D-3 and One after Christmas break for the Arizona Sun-Dogs.
