How do you pass the half loop with barrel roll? He always says its not quite right.

40% through story now.

Dunno, just got gold on the first 4 classes and Michael's flight skill went from around 20% to over 80%.

WARNING: before doing the mission "Did Somebody Say Yoga?" with Michael, put all his money in the stock market. Ammu-nation is a pretty flat stock to put it in. Spoiler-free: he loses a big chunk of his bank account after the mission.

Trying to find the other buzzkill missions (supposedly there's one that kicks two of the characters out of the city limits of Los Santos.)

Yeah, I know I've hardly touched the story, I'm having too much fun cruising around Blaine County getting caught up in random events and looking for secrets.

GTA Online confirmed to feature microtransactions for extra in-game cash. The pay2win butthurt is already flowing.

ETA: Nothing behind a paywall, everything should be accessible through sufficient grinding.

you're only kicked out if ls for a couple short missions.

Later you lose 1 char for a few missions also.

TIL Jimmy is voiced by Little Pete from The Adventures of Pete and Pete. I nostalgia'd.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

One piece of advice would be to wait until the end of the game to complete the assination missions if you haven't done them yet. Also, for some of the heists you can wait a day and invest in the company you just ripped off at their low point. Before too long they will be back to where they were before.

The only thing you need gobs of money for are the mega-expensive properties like the golf course, and they're not worth it. They're not needed for 100% and the ROI is pathetic. Buy the scrapyard ($150 for every car that gets wrecked in the city,) Los Santos Customs (free vehicle mods for Franklin,) hangar space at the airport for each character (can go into the airport without getting stars,) helipad/marina slip/garages if you like, and the nuclear waste dock (the waste collection pays for itself and then some.) If you need cash for ammo or a hypercar or something, just do the briefcase glitch.

I did the briefcase glitch to get each character a million bucks, then did two of the assassination missions. Everyone has between $3M and $4M right now.

Also if you hit the signed 32-bit integer cap (2.17B dollars, same number as the rep cap here) it rolls over to negative.

So, has anybody gotten a Sabre Turbo yet? It seems to be alluding me.

I found a Futo through pure dumb luck. Switched to Michael and it did the "stuck in a traffic jam" transition and there was one in it.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

Just beat the story. Think I'm about 70% done with all items.

I found a Sabre Turbo through dumb luck as well, with Michael while trying to grab a different car.

Also grabbed a Lazer jet fighter with Trevor after about 20 attempts. Anybody who tells you GTA sucks hasn't flown to the airport in a jet fighter and starting making passes blowing stuff up. :)

There's a chopper with machine guns/rockets on top of the NOOSE building at the southeast part of the island outside the city. You can steal it without getting stars. Incidentally, HOLY CRAP are the helicopter controls loose. I was all over the place even with decent flying skill.

As for the army base: buy the taxi company, then get a taxi and head to the base. Head toward the gates at full speed and just as you hit them press L3 to ask for a customer. It'll buy you a few seconds before the stars kick in. Best done as Franklin - you can do that then use his special to get where you need to go quickly.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I feel like the damage model in GTA is off, like waaaaaayyyyyyy off sometimes. I just pancaked Trevor into a motor home on a Sanchez and took no damage.

Wa-BAM. All of 'em.

Still missing the most fun cheats: pedestrians have weapons/pedestrians hate you/ped riot.

ETA: oh, and the invincibility cheat only lasts for five minutes.

Heads-up: Reddit/the Internet is attempting to pump up ****wasser stock. Get in now - plan is for everybody to sell at 6 PM Eastern on Monday 9/30/13.

ETA: May have to be in Rockstar Social Club for the BAWSAQ to work as designed.

ETA #2: Just sold my ****wasser at $9.98 since I won't be around for the big sell-off. Bought at $6.70. Was NOT signed into Social Club at the time. obamanotbad.jpg

Found 2 strangers that are fun / useful as Franklin. Dom, who has you do crazy stunts like jumping out of an airplane while riding an ATV, and Omega who starts the "find spaceship parts" quest. The reward for the spaceship parts is a Sci Fi Buggy apparently. I'm only at 15/50.

It was up to $11 this afternoon.

Yup, little Johnny has graduated from learning how to beat up hookers and shoot up his school to learning how to commit large-scale securities fraud. :D
