Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

Wow racing against other players (MNR) really shows if the tracks you make are broken or not.

Thankfully only 1 of the 3 I made is broken. The other two work great, although they still have spots that could use improvement.

Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

Just finished the main quest of Red Dead Redemption (yeah, I got a bit obsessed).

As for the ending: Wow.
Ok, I have to ask and really need a quality answer please......just how much nudity and strong sexual content are in the game?

Almost none. There is a cut scene (that you can skip) of sex and some dead naked people.

One scene with strong sexual content and nudity, that's it and it doesn't come in until later on in the game.

If true then this is the straw that will provide EA a stranglehold on the hockey video game market.

2K already threw in the towel to compete for it by going strictly to the Wii next year. This move is EA putting the skate to the throat.

Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

The only real glitch I've seen so far (RDR) is I was wanted for killing a posse and then I succumbed to a pack of wolves trying to kill them with a knife for the hunting challenge. When I respawned I wasn't wanted any longer. Guess I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not, since I've only had a bounty on me once before and paid off the sheriff ($15 and 400 honor points  )

And my DSL is out but it should be fixed today when I leave work early to meet the Qwest guy between 1-5

I think Twitch lied to us. I don't see any new games for Game Room and its the 27th!

You should be thankful Qwest has ridiculous time windows for service. It means you get to leave early! If they knew they would be over at 5 pm, you'd be working a full day! :p

yah, i noticed that too. though not being wanted and not having a bounty on you are two different things. the wanted level is based on being seen by the police or the posse chasing you.

if you have a bounty and you stumble into town (Even after you die), your wanted level could pick back up if the marshals' notice you. most likely you wont be able to take on the challenges from them either until you pay the bounty.

i never played red dead revolver, but the wanted level is a lot less of a big deal than it is in grand theft auto. i'm sure thats intentional with the whole fame/honor meter and the goal to be a 'good guy'. though they do leave open the option to turn into a desperado but i'm not sure how that plays a long with the story line if the cops are always chasing you.

Yep.

I still don't like the "Starting Lineup" look EA's players have. They're too plastic looking. Why does EVERYTHING need to be shiny in the game, including jerseys?

Along with limited licensing agreements thanks to EA, I think the every year cycle killed off 2k also; the smaller staff was too busy trying to do an NBA, MLB, AND NHL game every year. From what I've read, a few minor glitches from 2k8 are still present in 2k10.

And at least the free-agent signings and AI trades in 2k is a whole lot more realistic than EA's. What would be amazing would be to have 2k's backend engine running the GM functions, a combination of 2k and EA's physics for gameplay, and EA's graphics.

It looks like Amazon is selling the PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption for $48.54 today. That's about $11 off.

You already have them with Game Pack 004, they're just "unlocked" for you to buy now. I don't know either

I have a Pardon available to me and I tried to submit it at the train station. No one was around to take it, then I did a bounty mission and collected the reward from a grateful sheriff. I was expecting something to happen but I just got paid and away I went. :)

Although I've done a bunch of stuff in Mexico, I went back north to wrap up some loose ends. Is the Dynamite Wagon mission worth doing? I'm pretty much done up there other than that.

From Darren Rovell of CNBC:
NPD Group: Avg. age of video game player is 32. Four % of US pop spends 48.5 hrs/week playing video games
