Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

This is interesting because the camera is on the visitors side the entire time. Did I miss something?

WNYO films from the opposite side at home, have done so since we (they) started video highlights in 2011-12.

Also, to everyone, go easy on the broadcasters in both orgs. Overall, they're doing an admirable job, IMO.

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

You are correct with your critique...that is my number one comment as well. What ends up happening is that he tries so hard to get a complete description in that it confuses the listener and you don't know what exactly happened. That was one of my problems when i did games on WNYO and WTOP half a century ago (OK, it was the early 90's, same difference). That should improve over time as our PBP guys work on that.

You are talking about the wnyo guys, right? WTOP guys sound fine to me, but the play by play guy on WNYO does try to get in too much information and it tends to get lost as he speaks too fast. I just kept waiting to hear 'goal!' to know if someone scored. Also, his mic never seems as nice as the one the color guy is using, he seemed really muffled during this game. But hey, it's his first season and he's doing a lot better than most of us could do! He'll get it all ironed out I'm sure.

According to the babson website:

Tickets will go on sale at the Babson Skating Center at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and students with a valid ID.

Oswego fans... get there before 1pm and lets take over this place!!!

They sold out one game all year, not including standing room only. The Athletics department isn't even prominently located on the website. Get there early and get your tickets!
looks like the game will be on the computer/internet as per the video link...AWESOME....

Oswego will need to get bodies in front of that Murray kid in Babson for sure. He's as good as it gets at this level. There won't be many rebounds either. I think the Beavers are a little offensively challenged, so good solid team defense in front of Zawadski is key. As the old saying goes..."be prepared to win 1-0". Go SUNYAC !!!

HOCKEY NIGHT IN OSWEGO will be live from Babson Sunday afternoon...kudos to Oswego SID Mike Bielak for working swiftly with his Babson counterpart to confirm WTOP's requirements and deliver...they will have a few more bodies (8) than they had in Genny (5) - the tight confines of Babson's rink may present some challenges...more details as they become available.

My problem as well...I sounded like the Fed Ex guy (as I date myself with that reference). It definitely gets better over time if you know it's an issue and work on it. That was my sole motivation in pointing it out.

If WNYO is radio, yes. I checked out both, but I forget the call letters of the respective Oswego stations, as I haven't followed any of their broadcast until now (I was just familiar of their excellent reputation).

Also, to everyone, go easy on the broadcasters in both orgs. Overall, they're doing an admirable job, IMO.

Agree. As mentioned earlier, I came more to praise than to bury.

Yes top notch goalie,Big kid at 6 3" with a disciplined team IFO him....crash the net (without goalie interference:eek::mad::cool::p )and bang for garbage goals, they all count the same,if our dmen can handle their forecheck we should be ok.

Jamie Murray is a sophomore and was voted ECAC E Player of The Year. Norwich played Babson three times this year and only scored 1 goal per game. Shots were a total of 118 with 31, 48, 39 shots on goal. His save % against Norwich was .975. We get to see him for another two years. If there was trade deadline there might be a few coaches willing to give up some grade A recruits for his services. I would think he has a good shot at goalie 1st Team All-American

Blueline has a full bus, people car pooling, it may just happen!

Laker Nation does travel well!

I'd offer my van for gas money, but last time Laker fans were worried I'd leave them in Plattsburgh....might just stay local and hit the Genny/Norwich game anyways...

Take the thruway to Rochester, go left (South), through the corn fields for 20 minutes and you come a quaint little VT/NH type village of Geneseo
