To me, Shiner wasn't anything special. It was just a good "normal" beer. Crucify me if you want, but it ranks among the Budweisers, Mich Goldens, etc. When I don't want anything special, I just want a beer that tastes good.
What do you think my chances of bringing some Nordeast back to Michigan with me next week are?

Slim. Very slim. Start calling around the whole metro now.

Sobeski over ice with a squeeze of lime isn't bad. Not whiskey, but cheap and not bad.

Its Thursday night, so I'm having a couple drinks. Ketel One tonight. :)

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

I just made a Chocolate Martini with leftovers from the shower I threw a few weeks ago. I just subbed out milk for the half and half. It works, though once again I think I was a bit heavy handed with the liquor.

I might have been a little heavy on the liquor too. After mixing 3, I've used almost half a fifth of Ketel. :o

New Belgium Blue Paddle. Me likey.

Last Friday, my favorite downtown liquor store clued me into the fact they were releasing Blue Paddle this week. The proprietor knows me well; he is holding a 6 pack for me to pick up tomorrow night :D Can't wait!

Finishing off the last of the Mighty Arrow I had in the fridge tonight. I wish it was June already so I can start taking Friday's off...

If it involves chocolate, it's not a Martini. ;)

So needless to say I was pretty ****ed off to order a round of Apple Jack's tonight only to see them delievered in a 1oz. plastic throw away shot glass...

Maybe this is just an upper midwest thing, but isn't this supposed to be a 2-3 oz drink? It was always 1-1.5 oz Jack with 1-1.5 oz of Apple Pucker when I got it "up North"...

Would any of you bring this up and contest getting just a 1 oz drink with something like this? How would you address something like this?

FYI: A coworker of mine works at Cellars for another job, and tells me that they still have Nordeast. Call ahead, but you may be in luck.
Which one?
(please say Eagan, please say Eagan, please say Eagan...)

They should all have the same stock, more or less, but my friend works in Woodbury. Apparently the owner is in tight with the Schell's guys.

Well, I may try to give them a call later. Eagan is just convenient to where I'm staying when I'm home next week.

Let me know if it's only available at Woodbury or Roseville, I can see about picking up a 12er. Brent could probably do the same at Plymouth. ;)

Does this mean we'll be seeing senanicans tonight?

I think this was a "no". :( :p

It was a "no" because I made the drink on Thursday night. Don't judge me, I had just spent 4 hours working at a middle school track meet after subbing for a Special Ed teacher all day. I don't think this is going to be a senanicans weekend.
