Tried a "new" KBC last night Amce Anvil Ale for those that remember the Blizzard Brown they had last year its the same thing with a new name and still just as good

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

Finding a bartender that knows how to make anything in London is a real treat. You're going to find that the typical pub doesn't have much along the lines of "mix" drinks. The nicer places have bartenders that can do some stuff, but mostly if it's anything beyond rum and coke, they probably won't know how to make it. Also, tipping there is a lot less common. I think one night I gave a bartender a pound tip after giving me my drink and he looked at me like I was insulting him.

Good to know. We're supposed to go there soon. Don't want some Jason Statham barkeep splitting my head open cause I left him a quid, eh? Might just stick with the pint of bitters. ;)

That's an old name too - I think Acme Anvil was one of their first attempts at a "dark" beer to fall in-between their basic Lift Bridge Brown and one of their stouts.

I'm drinking, hopefully alot, this hockey team needs to be forgotten. 7&7 is my poison of choice tonight. :(

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

Seeing as how I didn't actually watch the game, I don't feel a need to get blasmed. Maybe tomorrow night though...
I didn't watch it either, or listen to it, all I did was follow it in the score update thread.

Lets call it the snowball effect. That and I didn't get nearly blasted enough after the first GLI game, since I wanted to be somewhat civil with the people I met up with after the games, and I was scared to get hammerdrunk in DT Detroit

Hence my hesitation about going up to St. Cloud. If I do go, I'll need to get blasmed, but I can't afford much at the moment. If I don't, I won't have an excuse to get blasmed. :D

I'll cover your $9 share of the motel if you come up and get blasmed, it that helps....I just want to have a decent sized group, its much more fun that way.

Picked up some Odell 90 Shilling tonight. Odell is another fun hippie New Belgium-type brewery based out of Fort Collins. NPB - hoppy enough to announce its presence without bowling you over.

Also picked up some Alaskan Amber in honor of my upcoming move.

Sounds better than this thoroughly mediocre Tap Room No. 21 Moe's Backroom Pale Ale. Still, I bought it and it's beer.

well, I have stuff for that

I can cover a couple drinks for you too, if that helps.

also, I'm really hoping that brent feels better tomorrow and makes the trip, it wouldn't be the same without him :(
