I knew the KBC occasionally did guest taps, but I was unaware The Library did.

I was told that the owner wanted it ready for this past weekend, but the brewer said it wasn't ready yet, although it was close enough it maybe coulda passed the test. The brewer wanted it in prime form. I only heard bits and pieces on the details, but I know I heard from the owner that it's on its way.

I also heard that a keg of said BVIP is going to make its way to the Franklin Square Inn July 4th weekend and that I shouldn't ask questions. :)

Since I missed it on the first snowfall, I made up for it tonight: bought a bottle of Bailey's. Something is just right when you see a good snowfall with some Bailey's on the rocks.

Also picked up some Brau Brother's Scotch Ale. It's okay, nothing special.

Absolutely. It's also a fantastic adder to hot chocolate. Oh man that's good stuff. Perfect for snowy weather. I'm all tapped out though... :(

Over a foot of snow here in Rochester and more on the way. It's officially Porter season.

Wolaver's Alta Gracia Coffee Porter. Get yousself some. Boom.

Some would say that porter season began two months ago, and it's now stout season. Some would also say that dark beers do not have "seasons". ;)

As for me tonight, I must say that I was intrigued by:

If you like dark rum, it's worth a go. Pretty solid as a "shot n' a cube", if you like the taste of molasses. Also makes a manly rum n' coke. Reasonably priced, at about $20/fifth.

I think I'm going to stop at the booze store on the way home tonight. I need a couple bottles of random stuff that I like to keep on hand, and I'm down to only 1 1.75 of Seagrams 7, so I should pick up a couple more of those. Also, as Brent mentioned to me a couple weeks ago, I need to take advantage of the Christmas box packs that include free glasses and stuff.

I had that at a friend's place a couple of months ago; quite good.

I picked up a bottle tonight on the way home based on your recommendation. Wow, that's pretty good stuff.

Finally had the Schell's Snowstorm tonight - not a big fan, but it's good for the style. I also had a bottle of the New Glarus Unplugged series Apple Ale, and it is actually pretty good (unlike the KBC's "cider" offering.) Plenty of apple flavor and a good amount of sweetness, but just enough ale character to remind you of what it is. Planning to sample a New Glarus Wisconsin Bock one of these days too (my uncle brought some when he came from MI through Wisconsin.)

Good ****ing luck. Anything this far north blows. I went to a bar further up north on 65 and it was ok. Can't remember the name of it though. I want to say Moe's but I can't remember. I know there's a Moe's up there but I'm not sure if that was the same one.

I had a couple suggestions from a buddy that grew up around here. Or else we could always slum it up at Povs.

If you're not doing anything, we're just going to be sitting around drinking and shooting the ****. Come over if you want.

Had a couple Schell's Snowstorm. Thought it was fitting. ;)

Also bought this year's Crown Holiday set. Unfortunately, the glasses are the same style as one of the years before. Still quality, though. Saw the Jack gift set, and the glasses looked awesome. Square bottom-round top lowball glasses, looked like thicker glass. But still not worth the $11~ difference in price compared to Evan. Yeah, I know, I'm a stickler for value (honestly, it's prob the same price as buying Evan and getting the glasses separately).

Did see that Grey Goose (way overrated vodka) has a shaker in their gift set. Usually Ketel (much better vodka, and cheaper) has the same setup, but didn't see one so far this year. Bailey's also has a two glass holiday set.
