Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Considering a visit to Boston during the 10/24 weekend, when BU hosts Michigan.

Anyone on here know any students at BU who might have an extra ticket for that game, that could hook me up?

Shoot me an e-mail at jgwinsto@syr.edu if anyone knows anything.

Go BU!

Rollheiser's "week-to-week" with a high ankle sprain. Not playing Saturday.

Will Parker play Milan for the entire game or do the same split with Kraus?

Kraus in the Haus!

I would like to see Kraus get some more time. Exhibitions are really the only time to see him play and while not spectacular it is fun to watch. On a more serious note, in the huge off chance that Rollie's injury is worse than expected or could be a nagging problem, giving Kraus more experience is always good especially if something should happen to Millan. All very unlikely and hypothetical but it doesn't hurt to have Kraus in for a split game.

Yeah. I don't think we should even downplay it as much as you did. Rollie's injury is already worse than we thought if he's week-to-week, and having just one guy could be scary. Hopefully it's nothing, but it will probably be another 30/30 split in minutes so that Kraus gets as much chance as possible. The first goal that he allowed last game seems to point to an issue I remember him having back at Lowell in late 2007. He just can't see a thing through any kind of traffic. That's something that is difficult to simulate in practice, so "real" game time is paramount for him to become re-acclimated to those types of situations.

Glad everyone is happy with the quick turnaround on the book deliveries! We are getting a steady stream of orders, and so far we are shipping books every day.

I'm really looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks of the book--eventually some of the now-it-can-be-told stories that are revealed in it.

Thanks for the kind words.

Re: Boston University Victory/Off-Season Thread 2009 - Recovery from Jubilant Stupor

I thought the parade was a lot of fun. I got a chance to talk to Jason Lawrence and Matt Gilroy (to whom I said "thanks for coming back for a fourth year" [was that okay, Jofa?], and whom I think would make a great BU head coach after his playing days are over).

Somewhat related, remember this column from the Freep?

http://www.dailyfreepress.com/2.5485...tdown-1.582814

When it was published, A LOT of posters on this messageboard praised it as absolutely correct and said that it revealed to the university community as a whole what we had been saying for years - it was time for Parker to move on. This seems like a particularly poignant paragraph, in light of this season:

(Quote:)
"Of course, the Terrier faithful could be overreacting. After all, the program went through a similar decade-long stretch of futility in the '80s, and Parker came out of that looking like a god (deservedly so) when the Terriers were downright filthy in the '90s. There's no reason not to think the next Frozen Four might be right around the corner. The ultimate question is: How long are we willing to wait? We've gone 10 years. Will we have to wait another 10? If the program doesn't return to prominence very, very soon, I fear it may be too late."

For what it's worth, I introduced myself again to Parker today at the parade and apologized to him for doubting him and writing what I did, and thanked and congratulated him. I told him we were all wrong and that I was happy to have him as the coach. It surprised me a little that he remembered the column and he had a big grin on his face and he said thanks to me for pushing him. As far as I'm concerned, he's bought himself a few more years. "

... i thought of this immediately after reading your part about the posters here and the freep and JP claiming he hasn't read any of that stuff in (his) life. :p

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Thanks for the TV schedule update Rogie.

Has BU struck a deal with NESN? Or, are they jut making an effort to show more college games this year? In years past, the NESN HE games didn't start until January.

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Way to go BU! I'm impressed.

Now, if we can just get them to improve the hotdog and ice cream problem.

nacho problem.

don't ever forget the nacho problem.

BU Hockey 08-09 - Burn the Boats
BU Hockey 09-10 - Fill the Bowls

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I don't know about the media guide, but here is the prospectus. (I also don't know the difference between the two:p )

Am I insane...? I was reading this, and I'm pretty sure on page 4 (the page with the schedule + results) they counted the Maine loss in the HE quarters as a win. The final record is shown as 36-5-4 when we were definitely 35-6-4... anybody?
