Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

USHR is reporting that NTDP forward Matt Nieto has committed to BU.

5’11”, 182 lb. LW Matt Nieto of the U.S. Under-18 Team has committed to Boston University and will be at Agganis Arena in the fall of ’10.

Nieto, who led the NTDP in scoring last season with a 26-41-67 line in 64 games (he was moved up to the Under-18 Team for the second half of the season) is an explosive skater and a gifted goal scorer and playmaker.

We should see him this weekend.

Sounds good. I remember a few people mentioning him in the recruiting thread as a possibility.

Nice. BU had been recruiting him pretty hard and he was at/near the top of BU's wish list. This also alleviates the need for Charlie Coyle to accelerate his plans and join the team next Fall; however, with the way Coyle has lit up the EJHL so far as a 17 year-old, he has the potential to contribute right away next season if he accelerated.

An interesting point about Coyle, but with his skill and size (6-2, 207), he might not want to wait another year. I believe this will be his draft year.

I understand that BU is still pursuing Sahir Gill, but for now the inventory at forward for 2010-2011 is:

SR--Pereira, Vic. Saponari
JR--Trivino, Vin. Saponari, Connolly, Glass, Gilroy
SO--Chiasson, Megan, Courtnall, Santana
FR--Coyle, Nieto, Cisse

Nice, very nice. Skill and size.

i suppose nobody wants to hear about me bowling in the basement of the GSU?!?!?:p

At least you got to bowl...we just got to look at the pins, they hadn't invented bowling balls yet.

Yeah, I don't think Bonino will be around next year either.

At the moment the youth scares me, but I'm sure my confidence in many of these players will rise throughout the course of this season.

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Mine too! I ordered it yesterday!!

Glad everyone is happy with the quick turnaround on the book deliveries! We are getting a steady stream of orders, and so far we are shipping books every day.

I'm really looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks of the book--eventually some of the now-it-can-be-told stories that are revealed in it.

Thanks for the kind words.

The entering 2010 class looks to be a very skilled group. Even without having seen any of the projected Fr/So play, they should form a very competitive team on paper.

Thanks Scarlet. So, I'm assuming that everyone that has a ticket to this game will receive the same e-mail. :)

How come no Pole talk? #2. Too high. And BC is way too low. I know, Pole's don't matter, but neither do exhibition games, but we love to talk about them. :)
