Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed!

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

Also, I love the new tags on our thread. Though we seem to be missing our customary "dynasty" tag, our new conference mates appear to be slacking.

Random musings, it's a slow day - even the rise of a new conference didn't bring rhm back to us...**** those people who drove him away with their subpar hockey knowledge and irrational fandom, they should be ashamed of themselves(oh wait...)

Was upset I missed it (in a new apartment with cable/internet pending), but I half expected ESPN to pull the footage from Andy's youtube video again like they did for the Hobey show. I'm hoping that wasn't the case, the 600x400 resoultion looked so great blown up the first time

Thankfully they didn't use youtube footage, it looks like they just put together some highlights from ONN and FSN coverage.

Question about the Red & White club. Is it worth joining at the "Young Alum/Red" level or are tickets in the Miami section for tournaments only available to "White" folks? The site isn't so clear.

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

If I recall correctly, Young Alumni/Red Level members get access to conference tournament tickets but not NCAA Tournament tickets. I've mainly been taking advantage of the Young Alumni option to (very slightly) boost my chances of getting hockey season tickets sometime in the current century, but regardless I think it's worth supporting R&W if it fits your budget.

Thanks, something to look into, it just popped into my head this morning.

You know joining the Blue Line Club and buying football season tickets shaves two years off the wait ;)

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

I would love to get season tickets for football but I'll be in NYC for the next 3 years so they wouldn't go to much use. If I end up back within driving distance, I will almost definitely get them. As far as the BLC is concerned, the $50 for R&W is pushing it in terms of budget at this point but when I get to a point that I can support both, it will happen. In the meantime, I've gotta show my love for all Miami athletic teams! :p

On another note, Miami students are getting all new ID cards this year so no more sneaking into "sold out" games for me :( though I suppose I won't have many opportunities to do so in the next few years regardless. I just hope I can find someone with a nice HDTV that will let me stream the games on All-Access!

Seriously? They issuing them to current students as well? Going to have to find an ID to steal on the weekends I guess.

Yep. My friends works for Housing & Dining. They're replacing all the old IDs with new microchip cards. No more swiping at the dorms... just hold your ID up to the entry pad! The new cards have a color photo of Central Quad and a pre-punched hole for freshmen lanyards ;)

How very considerate of HDG for the freshmen's' welfare, but I want to go to games for free!

RHM and 628 email me if you need tickets. Can't guarantee it, but a good chance and Mrs. Redeagle will thank you. :)

If I somehow make it back to Ohio for a hockey game in the next couple years, I'll definitely get be touch!

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

Was just checking out the response by WMU posters on their new coaching hire. Man! I've never seen such a glum group of people over what is, in my opinion, a pretty good hire. Maybe it's not an upper-deck moon shot, but definitely a solid double. He has lots of experience, NHL ties, and should be able to bring in some NHL talent to get ready for the next level. I'm not trading Rico for him, but I haven't heard any other names that I (were I a Bronco) would have to have over Murray. Do you think they're just depressed all the time on purpose???

I would have wanted Rolston if I were WMU, but Murray is any better then most of their other choices. I think it was just with all the WOWWESTERN hyperoble, kinda of a cool but not amazing hire.
