Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed!

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

Twitter is starting to buzz, Murphy to Sarnia is done. Really too bad, I think a year at Miami would have been great for him especially given his health the last year or two.

What an uplifting return from your posting hiatus, which I think began when we lost to UNH, talk about a dark cloud... ;-)

Guess we all saw this coming after his post-draft interviews, still doesn't make it any easier to swallow. I don't know much about Paulides, is there a chance he beats out Kennedy for the 6th spot, or is there a chance Tommassoni moves back to the blue line to make room for one of the froshie forwards?

It's been a pretty active and contentious summer around here. Been taking it all in on the sidelines.

INCH has Miami as the #1 team for 2011-12.

http://insidecollegehockey.com/inch/2011/07/26/10teams12/

With its veteran lineup in goal and on defense, I had Miami as #2 in the CCHA behind Notre Dame and #6 nationally.

I thought #1 overall was very generous as well, you don't replace Miele/Camper/Cannone without some growing pains.

Was hoping to see Murphy inject some more scoring from the blue line - sigh. But we should still be more then solid in our own end.

Why is Rachel Lewis telling me Tyler might be headed to Oshawa...true or not this is just getting annoying. Make a commitment, and ****ing stick to it (Looking at you Connor)

I'm not a Miami fan but as I stated in the Michigan fan thread, losing high caliber recruits from the college ranks this summer is pretty damaging. I hope you guys don't lose Biggs.

Also in regards to that person saying Biggs might defect as well, Brad Schlossman did tweet this earlier today:
Will be interesting to see if Miami can hold on to Tyler Biggs.

By how he worded it though, I think there is much less certainty on him(Biggs) bolting?

Thankfully the leafs brass has a great relationship with the program, so that may help... Hopefully.....

Hi all -
I have a game worn jersey of former Redhawk Derek Edwardson for sale so I figured I would offer it up here. The jersey is from Marc's 2005-06 season with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL after he put up more than 120 pts during his time in Miami. The jersey is $225 shipped (within the US). If you are interested feel free to PM or email me at info@johnsonsjerseys.net and of course, trades for college game worn jerseys are always considered!
:D

I'll keep talking to myself, it's kind of therapeutic.

Kevyn Adams to Buffalo as an assistant. I know RHM (may his USCHO+ account rest in peace) had mentioned him as a possiblily when Burgeron left, while you have to figure Brekke will be gone in the new few years, he would have been a nice replacement.

I bet it was tieslings doing

Sounds good. While we're at it, can we blame him for not being at Miami in 09? If he had been on the ice against BU you know we would have won. That guy would never not capitalize on an open net opportunity.

I hardly think missed scoring opportunities were the problem in that game...

I can never tell whether "vegas" actually refers to Vegas or "OxVegas" :-P
The season needs to hurry up and start already. And I need to find an HDTV so I don't have to watch All-Access on my laptop. Anyone have a spare one they'd like to donate to the cause?

I'm about to make my first trip home in about 6 months, which should put me in line for another in November and the beginning of the season. Maybe then I will be able to meet a few of you and know who the snap i'm talking to on here.

Just noticed the new tags for our thread... Suppose it was only a matter of time.
