Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed!

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

Biggs and Murphy 2 of 40 at the upcoming World Junior Camp. Both '93s with a lot of '92s.

Just read on ESPN that OSU and Michigan are close to closing on an outdoor game. Just made me think of how awesome the Goggin would be with a retractable roof. I would LOVE to see Miami play outdoors.

Michigan-OSU? Make it Michigan-Miami if they actually want a good game with someone other that Michigan fans in the stands. Miami may not travel all that well in general but for that game, especially relative to OSU hockey's traveling crowd, we'd show up and make some noise.

Sadly it isn't likely anyone will ever take that risk on Miami. The game being against Michigan makes OSU's hockey crowd irrelevant, people will show up just for the matchup as long as ticket prices are reasonable. But yeah, if OSU is winning you can't imagine the generally hockey inept populous of Ohio will be very boisterous. It will probably just turn into a "cool thing to take the kids to" plus whatever Michigan fans make the trip, which for their 3rd outdoor game in as many years might be underwhelming, but you never know.

I think we need to start fitting Yager for a rink!

Yeah, I know it's a pipe dream... I'd make the trip, though! :p
I just have a feeling the Michigan-OSU game will be a lot let exciting than they anticipate. If it was football on ice, however, they'd sell out no matter the price! Maybe they should market it that way and see if anyone notices.

I think you understimate the hockey fan base in Cleveland, not to the mention the fairly large UM and OSU alumni bases there.

Lake Erie was 6th in attendance this year, albeit with less average fans then some CHL teams.

... I thought you were going to say, albeit with twice as many fans as Miami

The LSSU schedule says they visit Miami Oct. 27-28 (Thurs-Fri). The Miami schedule says Oct 28-29 (Fri-Sat). Which one is right? Is it a goof on the LSSU schedule or did Miami change the dates recently and just didn't update the schedule on their website?

Saturday the 29th is the homecoming football game at 3:30pm. I guess it is conceivable they move hockey to avoid the conflict since the football game probably won't even be over by faceoff. You're right though, Miami's online schedule still shows Friday/Saturday.
