Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed!

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

The article in the Oxford Press about Camper said that the Bruins AHL team only had three games left in their season, all of which were this weekend I think. So he could probably play in those last few games and not miss too much work if he wants to finish his degree.

I don't know the B's plans for Carter, but I would expect about 8 guys from Providence to practice with Boston during the playoffs. This is not a part time job, like the army reserves--- you turn pro and that is it-- you take care of school in the summer.....or you wait to sign your contract

RHBM, the Hamilton paper this morning said that Camper will join the Baby B's for the three games and he will return to Oxford. It's the Hamilton Journal, so we'll see. When Andy Greene went to NJ, he practiced with the team through the playoffs. Guys in the past that left at the end of the season in their senior year (like Greene, Boyle, Kaufman, Jones, etc.) have found a way to finish course work.

Looks like its Cannone to the Sens.

Looks like Wideman is okay with that decision:

Congrats to @Pistolpat20 who just signed with @NHL_Sens I couldn't be more excited #togetherforever

Looks like Miele was a healthy scratch tonight for the Coyotes.

Ha I was cracking up when I read that. Wonder if we've ever had teammates on an NHL team before?

Camper said he was coming back to finish school after the three remaining games with the Pruins. He signed an Amateur Tryout Contract so it's not like anyone's wedded to each other.

Miele vs. Michigan = 2 GP, 1-4-5

Frattin vs. Michigan = 1GP 0-0-0 -2

The voting's already complete, but yet another reason...

Best I can come up with is two Miamians on the same team at the same time with San Jose this season (Boyle and Wingels), but they did not play together at Miami.

In the future, we could see the Muckbros together in Dallas. And possibly Martinez and Zatkoff in LA.

So how long until we see #17 on the wall of the Goggin?

Technically it's already there though it was in honor of Brian Savage. I'm sure Miele's name might usurp Savage's as the "owner" of that number. Hobey Baker Award winner probably should get whatever he wants...LOL

I'm sure Miele would get whatever he wants now, but I was actually referring to the "retired numbers" wall.

That's what I'm saying. 17 is already on the wall! You don't actually retire the number in college but "retire the jersey." Savage's jersey has been retired. A long time ago. He wore 17.

Congrats to Andy Miele and the rest of the Miami program for the Hobey.

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

Let's see if I've got this straight. In the last 3 years Miami has made the Frozen Four twice, won the CCHA regular season crown, captured a Mason Cup and now has a Hobey Baker Award winner. Not bad. Would I be correct in saying that 2011-2012 will be considered a "re-building year"? I hope so cuz the last time we had a re-building year we almost won it all, and seems like that's the only empty box on Rico's resume. I know I'm rambling like a crazed fan but when they announced Andy's name yesterday I almost peed my pants I was so excited. Do I need professional help? :)

Definitely a "reloading" year. Still very strong on the back end with veteran defense and goaltending. We'll be a lot like the Irish were this year up front with ridiculously talented and young forwards. If they are even close to as successful as Tynan and Lee, we'll be absolutely fine next year. On paper, this will be the most talented team we've ever had. However, it will also be one of the youngest ever.
