Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed!

Re: Official 2011 Miami Offseason Thread: Hawkheads face left and no scalping allowed

Agreed, I think just the hawk logo would look nice, but the text has to go.

For the contest, Miami only provided a few stock images, a RedHawk sans text was not one of them. So, there is a chance that someone in the athletic department made a creative decision along the way and removed the text, at the very least the "RedHawks", but that is probably a long shot. There are not many jerseys that don't have the school name on the front (UNO is the only one coming to mind).

I think the Flyer style name plates are going to look really sharp, and I'm always a fan of laces on college jerseys. All in all could be worse, I still think the 09-10 jerseys should have stayed. Those were the first Miami sweaters that really wow'd anyone, and were commented on by many non-Miami fans. The school could have made an absolute killing selling those.

In a collaborative effort, managed tickets for Michigan and ND, both nights. The online system seemed to work very well, had my portion of the tickets ordered and was out the door by 8:06. From the nightmare it sounds like over the phone ticketing was in past seasons, glad the athletic department made the transition to online this year.

Now if only the season would start...

18 Days!!

Anyone come up with a good thread title? Getting close to that time

The Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread: We Got 99 Problems, But a Conference A'int One :p

Or as a very wise man once said

RedHawks (Skins) Fly (Scalp) Together!!!

Love it! We should just start it now, its close enough to the season starting.

Haha, unfortunately not sure how well that would be received by the rest of our good friends on this board.

Welcome btw :)!

The Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread: Just Say No to [Rico] Swoons.

OR I propose a Katy Perry themed season

Part I: Waking Up in OxVegas
Part II: I Kissed a GDI and I Liked It
Part III (We can get there!): Miami Girls

Yes, I went there.

My interview with "The Hirsch."

http://bit.ly/ndaCs8

Thumbs up.

You really should have asked him how he feels about the nickname "The Hirsch" :)

If I had to venture any sort of educated guess on the Adidas/Bauer front, I would guess the hockey team would be sticking with Bauer. Would seem odd that after two years of no official merchandise after Nike/Bauer split (i.e. replica jerseys), that Bauer would begin to produce jerseys in March 2011, only to have their deal with Miami end in October 2011. That being said, I really have no idea how involved apparel contracts are at this level - producing 1,000 $70 replica jerseys for Miami hockey isn't exactly a blimp on the company's radar.

I had just assumed that the "Miami" sweaters would be the same, that would be a definite suprise to see them come out of the lockeroom in something new.

I think "The Hirsch" is just something we use here. LOL

10 former memebers of the Brotherhood (and Danny Boyle) starting NHL camps today. Best of luck to all of those fighting for a roster spot!

Lots of buzz around Miele from the Phoenix media thus far. Aside from constantly talking about his size, the coaching and conditioning staff for the Coyotes have had nothing but praise for his work effort and creativity. He did his thing in rookie camp without missing a beat, Tippet and co. just in wait and see mode on how well it translates to playing with the pros. Of course with all-stars such as hold-out Kyle Turris - Miele has an uphill battle to breach the immense depth that franchise has accumulated at center

Looks like there are spots to be won in San Jose with Wingels mentioned as being in the mix for one of the 4th line positions.(Article)

Not sure if Mercier/Palmer have any kind of shot at making a roster out of camp - but hope they make a good impression and get their chances through call-ups this season.

Camper had a strong rookie camp, and expectations seem pretty high for him to be a significant contributor in Providence this season. Haven't read much about Cannone, and iirc Zatkoff was the #2 in Manchester last season.

The kids are all grown up *insert joke about birds leaving the nest here*
