I wonder what will happen to realignment once Phoenix moves to Quebec City and Florida goes to KC or Hamilton, Ontario. :D

That might be a reason to consider pulling the trigger and going back to four divisions. If you loosen the geography of the divisions a little, it slightly reduces the headaches if another relocation comes to fruition.

I really want the playoffs first two rounds to be in division. If you want to build rivals this is the way to do it. Plus the NHL is different than it was in the 70s. New teams and a lot of teams not bound by rivals. How do you make Florida, Carolina, Phoenix, and all these small markets recognizable? Playoffs and create new rivals.

Maybe we should go back to the Wales and Campbell Conferences with the Patrick, Adams, Norris and Smythe Divisions. If you want to keep six divisions, add maybe the Howe and Pearson Divisions.

How about new division names? This isn't something I would endorse but a lot of fans have no idea who Patrick, Adams, Norris and Smythe are. If you want to market the "New" NHL how about the Gretzky and Orr conferences, with divisions of Howe, Messier, Lemieux (not Claude...though he does have a lot of rings) and Esposito?

So amazing. I can't stop smiling. :) Met Phil Pritchard today, he was the one that took the picture. Amazingly nice guy.

NHL plans to bring two realignment options to the table.

1- The radical realignment, no conferences, 4 divisions, all non-divisional games are home and home, with two rounds of divisional playoffs.

2- Flip Detroit and Winnipeg, meeting adjourned, everyone goes golfing.

Odds are, they won't get the two-thirds needed for the first, so Detroit can say goodbye to Chicago and St. Louis and hello to more Florida and Carolina. How's that for your whiny demands to be sent east, Illitch?

Hmm he didn't say which way voters might lean. However, if he's talking about switching Detroit with Winnipeg in that Detroit will join the Southeast division...that's the dumbest "solution" I've heard yet.

Calgary is 13-1 in the last four against Edmonton. That has to be the most lopsided in the league?

Brace yourselves...yet another PK Subban flop.

Wild didn't fare that well last time they played these upcoming teams. Tough roadie will tell us if they are going places.

ANA, SJ, LAK, PHX, WPG

I just saw that Florida has quietly put together a division lead in the SE, which tells you how weak the SE is.

It's certainly weak but there are some players having some great years for them. Versteeg, Fleischmann, Weiss is the best line in the NHL no one is talking about. Garrison and Campbell have given them a great 1st d pair and theodore has played well in the pipes.

Stepan, Anisimov, and Gaborik is right behind them.
