So, who stole Douglas Murray's sweater last night and fought Eric Boulton? Because that couldn't have been Murray getting one-punched.

Chris Pronger took a Grabovski follow through to the eye. Screamed, a lot of blood and left the ice in a hurry. Just nasty.

Amazing number of high sticks in that game tonight.

I'll be shocked if Jacques Martin survives the week. Another loss last night for the Canadiens (despite once again putting 40+ shots on goal). Games Wednesday against Philadelphia, Thursday and Saturday against Boston. I'm predicting a Friday morning presser announcing Martin's firing. No idea who will replace him, they've let their two best coaching prospects leave the organization each of the last two summers (Boucher, Muller). Last years Cup Finalists' coaches both got their starts with the Canadiens.

Really ugly situation up there right now.

Columbus finally on the board with a win over Detroit.

......wait, what?

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

What a disaster that's turning out to be despite a trip to the finals. That's a huge contract and the goalie market is well below where it was when he signed it.

Edit: I hope Schneider's had enough PT to take Vancouver to arbitration if he's not traded.

Yeah, Vancouver is boned with that contract for quite some time to come. The Canucks as a whole deserve blame for their play though, and that goes right back to the coach.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the HNIC games that will be on NHL Network live? I don't want the whole NHLN schedule, or even the Saturday night schedule - just the HNIC games.

Tell the truth, Don Cherry's suits turn you on a little bit.

Their farm club is struggling too. :( Finally turned it around last Friday, played well on Saturday, then sh** the bed on Sunday. One home game and two road games, but Sunday was the furthest bus trip: from Rosemont to Peoria.

Peoria on the other hand, manhandled the Wolves after flying in from Texas on Sunday morning (after playing Friday and Saturday night in Texas), and bussing back to Peoria mid-afternoon. That's right, the Wolves beat Peoria to their own rink. And still lost.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

And if you picked Asst. coach Perry Pearn to be the first fired in the Montreal Massacre, you win!

That is... peculiar.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

I figure the Habs just can't deal with a world where the Bruins are champs.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

Pearn's firing actually does have some merit. The Canadiens' biggest deficiency this year has been their defensemen's play in their own zone, and that was Pearn's responsibility. Of course, having 4-6 of guys with less than 100 games NHL experience (2 who had not played a NHL game before this season) might have something to do with it, too. Clearly this is also a bit of message sending to Jacques as well. Martin and Pearn are very close, their time together goes way back. So, a bit of "things better change, or you're next".

And Max Pacioretty? Animal. Or as Carey Price said after the game last night, "he has large nuts".
